BLITZER’S BLOG: World leaders flock to New York

New York (CNN) - I've been coming to New York almost every September for a long time, because of the United Nations General Assembly. It convenes at the same time each year. Leaders flock from all over the world, making it a good opportunity to sit down with some of them.

In recent years, I've also been able to interview former President Bill Clinton. He hosts his Clinton Global Initiative in New York at the same time, to allow world leaders to attend both the General Assembly and the CGI. In fact, tomorrow, I'll be sitting down with Clinton.

I'm pretty sure that Pres. Clinton will point out that all of this recent talk about Hillary running against Obama in 2012 is just "divide and conquer" spin that came out of Dick Cheney's mouth during an interview a week or ago.

The UN is a total joke. It has accomplished little since its creation. They really entirely on the US to do their dirty work, and then criticize the US for doing it.
