Rep. Paul: Impeachment a possibility for Obama

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Ron Paul suggested Monday President Obama could be impeached for the killing of American-born al Qaeda official Anwar al-Awlaki.

Al-Awlaki, who preached terror as the public face of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, was killed by a drone strike in Yemen last week in a joint mission between the U.S. and Yemeni governments.

"I think the impeachment process would be possible," the Republican presidential candidate said in response to a question from a student at the University of New Hampshire, where he hosted a town hall.

Last week Paul said al-Awlaki, who was born in New Mexico, should have been tried in a U.S. court.

He added, however, that he believed every U.S. president had committed impeachable offenses, and said the success of a push for impeachment would depend on the political conditions in Washington.

Two of his GOP opponents, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, have both lauded the president's role in the drone strike that killed al-Awlaki.

Thanks double President Obama for doing the right thing in this situtation.

This guy was out side the long-arm of US jurisdiction. He was a threat ... a seriouse threat. Now he can no longer plan terrorist attacks. Such actions by a sitting President are proper and at the same time there clearly needs to be checks and balances on such actiopns, but not the due process afforded an American Citzen living in tnhe US. If this Terrorist wanted due process .. he could have turned himself in.

For Ron Paul to bring up the "I" word in this situation is a disgrace to a sitting Congressmen ... smells seriously of sedition . Sit down Paul .. you are nuts, you must stop talking nonsense like this. This is way over the top. Your need to fund your compaign does not justfy your actions.
