Bloomberg says Wall Street protesters trying to destroy jobs
New York (CNN) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg blasted Wall Street protesters, entering their 22nd day Saturday, for targeting the financial sector and "trying to destroy the jobs of working people in the city."
Speaking on WOR radio Friday, Bloomberg said the city's labor unions - many of whom swelled demonstrator ranks earlier this week - depend on salaries that "come from the taxes paid by the people they're trying to vilify."

Bloomberg is part of the problem.
My immediate response is "What jobs?"; No Mayor this, for most protestors, is about fairness. When 1% of the population controls close to half (42%) of the wealth and 80% of the population has only 7% of the wealth that is not a democracy it is an oligarchy where the wealthy few control the political process with their abundance of wealth. There will be an accounting and with the mood of the American people it will be soon.
No one should doubt that this attack by Bloomberg is highly personal. He's the very kind of billionaire the occupiers are calling out! Just imagine if poor Michael had to may 5% higher tax on dividends... according to plutocrat dogma, Bloomberg TV would die after he loses all desire to make more money.
America is ina Great Depression.
America needs 100 million middle class and manufacturing jobs.
What jobs. The so called "job creators" haven't created any jobs with all the money that they gotten. That is one of these people are protesting. The other reason they are protesting is because of corporate influence dominating government policy.
People who are against the protests are clueless or part of the corporate machine or both.
I only have 2 questions for these protesters 1. Are you registered to vote?? 2. Have you voted in the last 2 elections? If you can't answer the questions, go back home!!
Whose jobs are they destroying? The jobs of the filthy rich who caused the bank failures and should be fired and thrown in prison? If i am fired from my job i loose every benefit, but when they are fired they get paid millions of dollars for failure is that fair? I would like to here some rational answers to my comments.
The top tax rate in 1941 was 94% and it is down to 35% today. The tax burden has been systematically trasferred from the wealthy to the middle class for 60 years. This is the real class warfare – the politicians doing the bidding of the rich. The young people on Wall Street realize this and are demanding their fair share.
And here's the truth: if General Electric, Ford or any of the companies that really make things are create jobs for the country were to close shop, there would be trouble. But if Goldman Sachs, UBS or any other of the societal parasites were to close only their employees would be hurt. Think about it, what would Goldman do if some rich person didnt give them money. They're like lawyers and can only exist if others are working – they produce nothing but money for themselves. There are the producers and the consumers – the Wall Street parasites are only consumers.
As long as unemployment is high, wages will remain low and Wall Street makes more profit.

Someone should ask him..."And why is that?". They take our hard earned money and aggregate it (401ks, IRAs) and trade it all around while taking a cut. Then lose it in scams. They don't deserve the millions they make.
Well Mayor where does your slippery argument end? After the top 1% owns 50% of the wealth and unemployment is 20%? The sacred job creators are doing nothing for the rest of us.
Bloomer its time to quit the affiliation with wall street and make your peace with god. You know you don't have many years left to enjoy all the money you made. Look what happened to Steve Jobs. You may be the next strong presidential candidate for 2012 if you ditch wall street like you ditched republican party.

I've been a hot dog vendor in NYC for 12 years, and business is now booming with these protesters on the street. I plan to take the extra money and invest it in a good stock so I can retire early.

Unions send jobs overseas, they should be banned. Just look at what have done for Greece.
Anyone who blames our Economic problems today on obama is clearly an ignorant and confused. We had a surplus then a republican had to out spend it by billions and put us in this spot to begin with.

The protesters know the TRUTH! The deficit went from $7B to $14B due to Wall St's reckless gambling. The gov't has effectively back-stopped Wall Street Bonuses!

Bloomberg makes a hundreds of millions each year from selling products to Wall Street. Mr. Bloomberg is worried about his own earnings – as Wall Street shrinks, he looses. It is time for NY to start building jobs in non-financial areas. The free lunch on Wall Street is coming to an end. The FED will bail it out as long as it can but at some point, no amount of printed money will be enough to save the ponzi scheme. The zionist depends on the Wall Street money to fund AIPACs operations and wars. It will fight until the end to keep that scheme going.
