Pelosi says senator's comment 'disrespectful to women'
(CNN) -– House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that comments made by Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown about a Democratic rival showed a “disrespect for women.”
Brown made the remarks Thursday, when asked about candidate Elizabeth Warren’s statement that she had “kept her clothes on” while paying for college. Warren was making reference to a nearly nude 1982 Cosmopolitan magazine photo shoot that Brown did to earn money at age 22.
When asked about the comment during a radio interview with WZLX in Boston, Brown said only, "Thank God.”
Pelosi said Sunday on the ABC program “This Week” that the comment was disrespectful.
“The response you just gave, 'Thank God,' really, I thought spoke volumes about how clueless Senator Brown is,” Pelosi said. “It really spoke volumes about, really, disrespect for women that he may not even realize. I bet you he'd like to take that comment back.”
Pelosi acknowledged that the comment was likely meant to be a joke, but maintained that it was still revealing of Brown’s character.
“I hope it's joke-y. And if it is, then hopefully he will take that comment back. But women know. They hear a comment like that, it tells you a lot about somebody,” Pelosi said.

Just another good ole boy yukking it up. Unfortunately, Senator Brown is a man who needs to remember that everything he says is scrutinized. His remark was just plain stupid and bordering on ignorant. We should all expect better.
Those who make fun of Governor Christie are just plain rude and offensive. If you want to criticize his policies that is one thing but we all need to stay away from these personal attacks. They do not help anyone.

She insulted him for doing what he had to do to make it through law school, and he made a small counter-remark. Not only is this absurd because Brown was insulting Warren's attractiveness, not women, but it also shows how liberals would say it's better to just quit school because you can't pay than do something about it. Then the liberals come crying to the government for a free education, etc.
I suspect a grown-up can take this sort of disrespect. She will not be shocked to discover that Republicans always use cheap and poorly conceived sound bites. Still, I'm a Democrat and have little use for any of the Congress – including former Speaker Pelosi. The President remains the only adult in the room and the Congress is still a useless group of political weasels.

I think he was making a joke about himself and what he did. That being said, no one really got on you about your facelift (or lifts) or how you were flying all of your family around on the tax payers money!!!
Scott Brown's comment was terrible and hurtful to the women of this country. It shows a meanness in this man's character that will become evident as he faces the political race of his life. He has accomplished nothing for our State since going to DC; however, has aquired quite a bit of wealth for himself and for his campaign from people like the the Koch Brothers. Brown is ranked the 65th wealthiest Senator out of 100 in 2010. Not bad for a guy with a truck and a barn jacket as props.
Why is this important? I think that this can only show that Brown doesn't think highly of Elizbeth Warren's body. That just shows he is sexist. It is not a good trait, but it doesn't disqualify someone from the Senate. All it should do is make you think twice about who represents you in the Senate.

I suspect it's of little consequence since Scotty's Banker friends money will have to support the GOP Presidential candidate to a larger extent than even the greedy folks envisioned; that leaves a smaller piece of the pie for our male Sally Rand wannabe. Besides, there's something very positive about hearing Senator Warren coming from the Senate floor, in the near future. While I don't live in the Bay State, she'll get a couple of my dollars.

If Senator Warren made a quip about Senator Brown being naked then it stands to reason he is within his rights to reciprocate the gesture. That's called equality.

I may be dense, but I don't see it as a hit on women, but then I've just spent all day working so I could pay bills that keep building up because our great congress can't get their collective butts together and stop being for the party and work as you should be doing for the American people. I hate to waste money, but I sure am not getting my moneys worth out of congress. I think it's past time to get rid of the lot, and send them their pink slips,ALL.
