'Joe the Plumber' to be Rep. Plumber?

(CNN) - Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, better known as "Joe the Plumber," has taken steps toward launching a bid for a House seat in Ohio.

Wurzelbacher filed candidacy papers with the Federal Election Commission on Friday, indicating he would run as a Republican from the state's 9th district.

"Joe the Plumber" emerged on the national stage during the 2008 presidential campaign when he pressed then-Sen. Barack Obama over his plan for small business growth. The then-Republican presidential ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin quickly capitalized on the exchange. Wurzelbacher, who it was later revealed was not a licensed plumber, appeared at campaign events with the GOP nominees.

Since the election he has attempted to capitalize on his notoriety and wrote a book in 2009 called, "Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream."

The Democratic-leaning northern 9th district includes parts of Toledo. On the Democratic side, Reps. Dennis Kucinich and Marcy Kaptur will face each other in an incumbent-versus-incumbent primary, the result of Congressional redistricting.

Joe the Plumber was not exactly truthful about his background. Before he runs he should come clean about his background. Hopefully the voters in Ohio will insist on that. So many people are hurting in Ohio and they need the best representation possible. I am not sure that Joe the plumber is the person for the job.

Why? The whole point of Joe the Plumber was that he apparently stood for the average citizen. Now, everytime he makes an apperance or is mentioned he is pulled more away from what he was supposed to represent. He is not Joe the Plumber anymore.

No, I think it was someone who was actually sober, and probably feeling like putting in a kind word for an otherwise aimless hack.

I know a group of geese is called a gaggle but what do you call a high flying group of idiots, sorry Republicans but they all are quite a bunch this time.

Tom...it's a typo. I think that's obvious. Suggesting that I don't know how to spell "plumbing" says more about you that it does me.

Every American has the right to run. Your vote, or lack of it, speaks louder than your posted comment.

I live in this district. He has no chance.

By the way, did his taxes go up? NOPE. Just like Obama said they wouldn't because he doesn't make more than $250,000 a year. Why has this aspect of the story been forgotten?

One amazingly funny thing about Conservatives is that they have this revolving door of complete idiots that represent their party...

...one idiot comes out says his/her crap, and continues to go thru that revolving door, disappearing for a while and then popping right back up...

... occasionally, one of the idiots manages to get away from the revolving door for a while and sticks around for a little, but soon they are put back in the revolving door...

...so we are stuck with Bachman, Palin, Newt, Romney, Joe the Plummer, Cain, Ron Paul....

...and don't forget Dick Armey, Norquist, and the Hammer himself Tom Delay are due to pop up again....
