Bachmann weighs in on terror plot, financial reform

(CNN) - GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said Tuesday President Barack Obama took his eye off of what she referred to as the No. 1 issue in the Middle East: "Iran obtaining nuclear weapons."

On CNN's "Erin Burnett Outfront," the Minnesota congresswoman also expressed concern over the Democratic-backed financial reform legislation from 2010, arguing it "drives up costs for the consumer, costs to get loans for purchasing a house" and makes it difficult to get loans from a bank.

she is just ridiculous! i loved all of the squirming cutaways of all of the candidates every time she spoke during last night's debate. and I also love how the rest of the field doesn't even mention her or bother with anything she has to say. but what makes me mad is she had the perfect moment to respond to the heckler who asked about booing a gay soldier, but we already know she's a hateful woman masked in "Christian values."

i'm reminded of a dog i used to have when I was a kid ... "noodles" was it's name. a very small dog. if anyone so much as knocked on the door, she would run frantically under the kitchen table and start barking her fool head off. as far as threats go, she was never right in even the slightest way. poor thing. she sure thought a lot of herself, tho.

    true story.

Geezis!! Does she ever relax that makeshift understanding of international positioning. Amazing how Senator Bachmann is the authority on EVERYTHING. I guess she hasn't received the memo yet that says that ad nauseam Obama bashing is no longer in vogue. She's an ego maniacal dominionist who seeks constant attention and loves being in a position of authority. I'd be willing to bet her state's glad she's on the campaign trail. Not sure she does very much for her constituents anyway. She's a lawyer, a mega-mommy and a megalomaniac. She will always do what she can to intimidate and boss people around. Are you all observing that personality?

There is no reason why the financial legislation passed last year would do any of the things Bachmann claims it does, unless financial institutions CHOSE to do it that way. It's the oil companies all over again. Exxon made about $35 billion in profit last year. The government subsidized Exxon to the tune of a couple billion dollars. Take away that subsidy, and they still have a profit of $33 billion. That's not even a blip on the shareholder's value. But what do the oil companies do? Moan about tax increases, and how they will have to lay off workers. My arse. They choose to stick it to the American taxpayer. They can choose not to do that, but that would require their shareholders to make only a 6% profit rather than a 10% profit on their stocks or dividends. These are the kinds of people that Republicans support.

Erin Burnett did a great job interviewing Bachmann. Maybe CNN finally hired a winner!

Great! We're all waiting for more observations from Michelle Bachman – known for her accurate and intelligent analysis of technical information. I'm just glad I found out from Michelle that the Earth is less than 6000 years old, you get autism from HPV vaccine, and you can "pray away the gay". Moron.

Hmm. How often does Michele Bachmann goof up a quote?
"We had enough money to pay off the interest on that debt"
Right... That's why the goverment was going to shut down the day after the agreement was reached.

How in the hell does Bachmann know where President Obama's eyes are??? Did Bachmann know that President Obama had his eyes on Osama?? She just keeps coming out of her mouth over and over again with LIES and FOOLISHNESS. The more she opens her mouth – the lower her numbers go.

CNN – Why do you keep giving Bachman a platform? She's is not offering anything and her policies don’t even add up!!! Jeez!

    Obama/Biden 2012!

Bachmann only made false or misleading statements during last night's debate. Any reason to believe that anything she has to say at this point is FACTUAL??? Not likely, and the way she is throwing out mis-statements is like playing darts when you have been drinking. Just plain dangerous!! When is her campaign going to cave in?? Can't happen soon enough.

No, the lack of eyeballs award goes to GW Bush who ignored the Clinton transition team warnings about Osama bin Laden and the August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing that warned al Qaeda was determined to attack the US using airplanes.

This recent Iranian plot was foiled; the attack did not occur. And Bachmann's lack of understanding about this issue is on clear display: This is all part of a rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran (Sunni vs Shiite Muslims); not so much about nuclear arsenals.

only in bachman-ville is every victory Obama pulls off considered a defeat. What an idiot. Can't you just say "Congrats for stopping the assassination" or "Way to kill Osama" or anything positive?? Everything leads to a whiney complaint. What a pathetic bunch of losers...

  13. Anthony... proud tax payer

And if Obama would have kept his eyes on Iran, you would have said he took his eyes off of Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iraq. All the while, he's knocking off terror leaders left and right. So of course she's gonna say what she says. All the while, Americans have caught on to her lies and bull shoveling. But hey.. don't let her idiocy get in the way of reality.

    Memo to Michelle.
First off our presidential hopeful ; under US law anyone or anybody is innocent untiil proven guilty under our constitution that you rightously and vigoursly support. As is this Iranian guy trying to get at the Syrian representative here in US, but foiled!! I cant say he's guilty or not yet.
Secondly, America and all the European nations negotiating with Iran also failed on the Nuclear issue along with President Obama, actually his negotiating team lead by HRC. Due to a completely recalcitrant regime... what negotiationg ploy tactic strategy would you have used? (Told a bunch of muslims.) They were ignoring christian values!?
Iran has been front and center with Obama because re Israel /Palestine activities The Israelis ( Netanyahu )made sure it was "understood". So America and the major Eurpoean nations have made it clear they will support Israel if attacked, by any mid east nation ( Europe mentioned Iran specifically) or terror group.
    3) You demonstrate with your attack on financial regulations. A totally simplistic and utterly nonsensical cause and effect on the cost of housing loans. The whole point was doing it on the cheap and charging usurious interest rates ( ARM's) made the motgage cost unsustainable to "the consumer". At the same time investors were fooled even by documents relating to mortgaged back securites that were so arcane even serious/ qualified investors could not understand them and relied on S&P etc ( triple AAA rated) who totally screwed up. Then you add the credit card usurious interest rates and and hidden charges and who paid until they went bankrupt in all cases "the consumer "and investors because your party under Bush passed TARP and rescued the banks, but not consumers.
What an arrogant load of BS you have talked here. I certainly don't want you as President leading our Economic direction, financial regulation and international diplomatic relations.
    Regards,
    Hodgson.

"Rep. Bachmann also mentioned that if one looks at the word "Iran" upside down, it reads, "I buried Paul," which prompted her final statement of the interview,"The Beatle is in the details."

And her solution is?..... Is she going to nuke Iran? Is she going to be more successful in getting Russia and China to back sanctions against Iran? Will sanctions accomplish anything?

Bush created this crisis with his "Axis of Evil" declaration. Let's look at the facts. He identified three nations. North Korea has nuclear weapons so we play nice with them. Iraq had no nuclears and we invaded them. So... If you're the head of Iran, what does this tell you? Of course, get nukes as fast as possible!
