Pray for the president? Yes thou shalt.

(CNN) - Republican presidential contender Rick Perry recently urged social conservatives to pray for President Barack Obama.

"As I campaign for president, I not only ask you for your vote and your support, I ask for your prayers. I ask you to pray for our country. I ask you to pray for our president to give him wisdom, to open his eyes," the Texas Governor told an audience in Florida last month.

Doing just that is the stated mission of the Presidential Prayer Team.

Dr God, Please protect us from false profits like Rick Perry and the gang of GOP/Extreme Social Conservative Right Wingers. . Help them see there are Americans different from them who happen to be Democrats, Liberals, Socialists, Feminist, African American, Hispanic, Gays, Lesbians, to name a few – all made by you and deserving of the same rights as them! Help them stop using wedge and class warfare issues like blaming the poor for everthing that divide this country. Amen

Everyone out there is praying for our President---- we want JOBS !!!!!!! Perry is NOT the President and the jobs he created in Texas are largely minimum wage or below jobs without benefits. The devil is truly in the details on Texas jobs.

    from the article:
As for President Obama, Bolthouse says that it has taken effort to convince some PPT members that it is proper to pray for the current president, given their opposition to his policies, some of which he says are “in conflict with biblical principles.”

Wouldn't not caring for the sick, the elderly, and the needy be "in conflict with biblical principles?"

'Cause that worked so well for those fires in Texas...

I guess this means that Rick Perry has given up any hope that he will be President - he's resorted to his usual ineffective measures.

Rick...why don't you pray that your big-mouthed wife (who blames Obama for your son's unemployment) keeps her trap shut 'cause it ain't helping you. You are sinking fast and nothing can save you.

All the prayers in the world didn't save this country from the Bush regime. We prayed hard to get Bush out of office, that the American people would grow brains and NOT vote for him, that the voter fraud and illegalities that Florida committed wouldn't happen again.

Luckily, we have a very smart president who has his eyes wide open. He's doing the best he can for this country and its people despite the destructiveness of the GOP and their power-hungry hordes who only want to destroy this country.
