(CNN) - Herman Cain took some hits in Tuesday's CNN Republican presidential debate, but so far the biggest opponent he has ever faced appears to be cancer – a battle he says he has won. In 2006, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO says, he was given a 30% chance of survival against his stage 4 colon cancer.
It started when Cain experienced discomfort in his lower belly, according to a letter written earlier this year by one of his physicians, Dr. Martin York of Peachtree Hematology-Oncology Consultants in Atlanta.

Must've been nice being insured when that all happened.
I'll forget my personal feelings about him for a minute. I'm glad he recovered.
The pity party is not gonna happen to propel him with his radical views....God Bless him for beating stage 4 with all his money and benefits...not every one is that lucky.
Must've been nice being insured when that all happened.
Oh, and did I mention...NO QUARTER? You want my sympathy Cain, show some. Mercy's bought with mercy, not pleas(e).
May God continue to bless you, Mr. Cain, for your cancer survival.
I'm glad Cain beat the cancer. Bless him. However, forget the sympathy votes. This guy is nuts!
And what are the doctor's saying today? Full remission? Fully cured? Any serious liver damage from the spreading? Need to know these things. Kind of important. Jobs fought a valiant fight for years as well. Can Cain go the distance if elected? Will the next four years be too much if he were elected?
If he has this kind of medical history, he has no business being Presidednt. That and the fact the he's a radical extremist, should keep him from getting the nomination. However, if he were to somehow secure the nomination, Obama would mop the floor with him.
