Trump's 'birther' prediction for Perry

(CNN) – Donald Trump predicted fanning the "birther" flames is a "positive thing" for Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry.

During an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, the real estate mogul said the issue would help the Texas governor in the Republican presidential primary, but might not be "good for him in the general election."

Trump championed the "birther" issue during his flirtation with a bid for the White House. President Barack Obama, who was born in Hawaii, eventually released the long form version of the document to seemingly combat the growing rumors.

Texas Gov. Perry recently expressed doubts about the validity of the birth certificate.

On Wednesday, Perry told Florida's Bay News 9 he was "just having some fun with Donald Trump."

But Trump continued to raise questions about the certificate, saying Obama "might have been" born in America.

"My gut tells me a couple of things. Number 1, you know it took a long time to produce this certificate and when it came out, as you know, you check out the internet, many people say it is not real. Okay? It's a forgery," Trump said. "And the other thing is, nobody has been able to see the day of his birth, they had twins born, they had the other one born. Nobody has been able to find any records that he was born in that hospital."

CNN released the results of its own investigation into the controversy earlier this year. Documents and statements from numerous public officials and childhood friends made clear that the president was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.

So Perry won't believe an official US document, but he *does* believe in the big pal in the sky.... Would be interesting to see what effect it would have on these idiots if The Bible couple be quoted to say that Obama was a US Citizen. I suspect several heads would explode.

The more I hear this guy talk, the more I'm convinced he's a double-agent for the Dems. He's done more to help them with his inflammatory rhetoric than anyone else AND he's managed to get others in the GOP to jump aboard his crazy train. Very shrewd Mr. Trump. Well played!

By all means, Gov. D-Student- keep up with the birther thing. Best way to ensure you're never a threat to this country again.

Examiner is a wackadoo. Truly. Who cares about this blowhard Trump? This is the same guy who went on TV to tell the world about his hired "investigation" and it was all a big lie.

Interesting comments on this thread. What's equally interesting is that 'birthers' support this bankrupt wielding Wall Street schemer and would gladly vote trash just like him into office which would go against their best interests as well as the nations just because of the color and name of our President. You people should not only be pitied you should be deported.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Trump used this same tactic to "forge" his campaign – which is now dead! And then Trump took credit for something that was already in the public domain and fact. Read that again, Trump took credit for proving something that was already a proven fact and in the public domain. What's next, he'll take credit for correctly identifying sunrise and sunset?! Hey Donald, I've got a new tactic for you – have "W" prove that he ever flew a plane in the Alabama Air National Guard.

And for all the "intelligentsia" on the Right. Please come on here and state the the procedure for vetting presidential candidates through the investigative steps. Then look at the "Birthers," again, and decide for yourself. I have yet to meet any "birther"/right-winger that knows the vetting process, so someone on the Right surprise me and the rest of us that do know.

The Donald can't stand not being in the news! Wouldn't he be another great advisor for president Perry? What a joke this whole republican primary has become!

Trump does NOT lie.....it gains him nothing! The truth is that Obama is a liar and a thief and a Muslim and should be impeached! He has helped to destroy this economy along with Bush....they both belong in prison.
    -------------------

WRONG. It gains him publicity and notarioty and makes him feel relevant. Want to hear the truth? You're an idiot. Who cares if he's a Muslim or not? Not I. And every other president hasn't lied ? And what exactly makes him a thief? What did he steal?

Maybe Trump gave a big donation to Perry in return for validating Trump's bizarre notion that Obama wasn't born in the U S. Trump has a lot of money, in spite of all of his bankruptcies. Why listen to Trump!

Curious George of Texas did more harm to the United States than Ben Ladin's airplane attacks on the US. Obama from Hawaii, who was called a hater of America and a non citizen has done more to rid the world of terrorists with less money and no loss of American lives. Trump proves it does not take intelligence to become rich.

  15. Huh?!

Examiner – Photoshop? PHOTOSHOP?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good grief, if it was Photoshopped it would have been outed the day it was presented. it's as easy as showing there's no imprint from the typewriter. They didn't have laser printers back then. At best it would be dot matrix or drum printer and STILL there would be impressions. This is the kind of stupidity 99% of the otehr people on the board are talking about. So tell your "experts" to get in another line of work, they're not all that swift at this computer stuff.

"Who really cares about this? Yeah the certificate could be fake, especially since Obama went way out of his way to prevent it's release. That said, who cares? We have a government that operates outside the confines of the Constitution severely endangering the liberties of each and every one of us. We have a central bank that is raping our nation, printing money non stop causing the poor to suffer devalued already stagnant wages! We have a president who illegally takes the nation to war on a whim (Bush 2.0) and can apparently assasinate any American he deems a threat (think Mr. Bidens irresponsible tea party terrorist remark)! This is not the American way people. We have to stop telling each other how to live and come together around our freedom principles getting this federal government off our backs and back down within the confines of the Constitution. This message brought to you by a true liberal!"

Do it, Perry! Take more advice from Donald Trump. The man America loves to hate. You are on a ROLL, boy! Maybe Rupert Murdoch and Bernie Madoff can chime in and think for you too. Stick to that 1%. Because that's about where you're polling these days.

Trump really stays on message and focuses on the number one priority for voters! He had Sarah on board. Now he has Rick. Who's next? Surely this is a fail-proof strategy for a GOP victory in 2012.

So these people believe that, with all of the people involved in a presidential candidate's background checks and certification, that a conspiracy of silence like this would last more than 5 minutes successfully. Look, if you want to talk about the waste of the stimulus packages (Obama's or Bush's), whether expanding goverment control over healthcare is a good idea, or whether/how to send and distribute our military all over the world, then let's talk. However, all of the people that believe that Obama's birth certificate is a valid issue need to do the US a favor next November and stay home. Let the people that can think vote. This also goes for the people that went into a tizzy because of things like the odd rectangular shape under Bush's jacket in the early 2000's. If you tend to gravitate towards wild, incredibly improbably conspiracies rather than hard facts about the issues that we face, then please shred your voting registration card! Again, do our country a favor!

The RepublicOns are not only anti-American and obstructionists, but they're also stupid! Do they really think a right-wing-nut candidate can win the general election? As usual, their self-centered principles get in the way of logic and common sense!

Really people, move on...If the Donald and others want to keep bringing this up, it only makes them and the Reps look more stupid. What is going to happen to other future viable candidates (Jindal, Rubio) when this keeps coming around. Seems to me this was addressed long ago when Sen. Obama was elected. Move on. Much more important things than this. BTW – I have it on fact that Trump was born in Kenya.

Mr. Presidential Candidate Advisor Donald is really something to behold with his zany "gut feelings" usually devoid of evidence to back what he says. It seems sort of like Trump is being the unelected boss of our country.
