Trump's 'birther' prediction for Perry

(CNN) – Donald Trump predicted fanning the "birther" flames is a "positive thing" for Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry.

During an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, the real estate mogul said the issue would help the Texas governor in the Republican presidential primary, but might not be "good for him in the general election."

Trump championed the "birther" issue during his flirtation with a bid for the White House. President Barack Obama, who was born in Hawaii, eventually released the long form version of the document to seemingly combat the growing rumors.

Texas Gov. Perry recently expressed doubts about the validity of the birth certificate.

On Wednesday, Perry told Florida's Bay News 9 he was "just having some fun with Donald Trump."

But Trump continued to raise questions about the certificate, saying Obama "might have been" born in America.

"My gut tells me a couple of things. Number 1, you know it took a long time to produce this certificate and when it came out, as you know, you check out the internet, many people say it is not real. Okay? It's a forgery," Trump said. "And the other thing is, nobody has been able to see the day of his birth, they had twins born, they had the other one born. Nobody has been able to find any records that he was born in that hospital."

CNN released the results of its own investigation into the controversy earlier this year. Documents and statements from numerous public officials and childhood friends made clear that the president was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.

Where are your tax record, Donald, that you promised to produce after President Obama released his "long form" birth certificate?

There are 10,000 people smarter than Donald Trump. He's just richer than them. That's it.

All birthers, please do the following:

    1. Get out your original birth certificate.

    2. Go to your country registrar and request a certified copy of your birth certificate (where I live, it costs $25).

    3. Compare the certified copy ("short form") with your original copy ("long form").

    4. Please note how much detail is printed on the original copy (and that it looks pretty much the same as President Obama's "long form").

    5. Please note how much less information is printed on the certified copy (and that it looks pretty much the same as President Obama's "short form").

    6. Confirm with the registrar (as I did when I needed to get a certified copy of my son's birth certificate for travel reasons) that the certified copy is indeed authentic proof of birth, is legal identification recognized by all states and the federal government and can be used to obtain a passport, Social Security card and number, and any other legal action that requires legal proof of birth.

    7. Give yourself a "dope slap" for having to spend money to prove to yourself what a gullible fool you are.

"Donald Trump Is losing his mind, and can't drop something he was prove wrong on."

No, Trump is just like whats-her-name from Wasilla, who feels compelled to periodically say idiotic things to the media to get attention.

Narcissistic and egocentric, coupled with not a lot of brains and an incredibly abrasive personality. YUCK!

Well, after all, sociopaths like hanging out together....you know, talking about all the lives they have destroyed, what their names of their ranches are, shooting up old cars and tin cans, that sort of stuff.

I wish Trump would run for the Republican nomination so he could also be voted off of the island. (Jay Leno show)
Trump could do us a favor by buying an island somewhere far away and mover there permanently, never to hear from him again. There is more hot air in that guy's had than thought.

Boy, oh boy, Perry fell in the Trump trap. He really is a bit empty between the ears by deciding to pay attention to the Trumpster.

@Kris Craig – you said that maybe Trump was born in Kenya but "oh ya – he's white" . That man is NOT white....orange maybe, dayglo peach but definitely not white.
My other thought is that for whatever reason he wants Perry to fall flat and fail – does Trump know fellow millionaire Romney? so if he convinces naive Perry to go with the birther theme and look like a complete fool on the campaign trail – Romney wins. And it really seems to be working. The problem is that this line-up is so pitiful that no one is a winner...not the republican party, not the american people and not the working class stiffs that support this place from the ground up!

Someon better stay on this birther thing. It is obvious that Obama stalled 2 and a half years beforing showing the fake certificate along wqith his fake social security card from Colorado a state he was never in. He has one goal and that is to destroy Democracy in the U.S. and to set up a dictatorship. His followeres are so stup[id they can only see color. to them this means the man is truthful. I feel sorry for such mentality. no one can tell them or even show them anything contrary to this dishonest man. I was a Democrat for 50 years and he is obviously a fraud to me. BEWARE AMERICA OF EVILNESS IN OUR GOVERNMEN. BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU ELECT FOR CANIDATES THIS GO AROUND.
