Trump's 'birther' prediction for Perry

(CNN) – Donald Trump predicted fanning the "birther" flames is a "positive thing" for Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry.

During an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, the real estate mogul said the issue would help the Texas governor in the Republican presidential primary, but might not be "good for him in the general election."

Trump championed the "birther" issue during his flirtation with a bid for the White House. President Barack Obama, who was born in Hawaii, eventually released the long form version of the document to seemingly combat the growing rumors.

Texas Gov. Perry recently expressed doubts about the validity of the birth certificate.

On Wednesday, Perry told Florida's Bay News 9 he was "just having some fun with Donald Trump."

But Trump continued to raise questions about the certificate, saying Obama "might have been" born in America.

"My gut tells me a couple of things. Number 1, you know it took a long time to produce this certificate and when it came out, as you know, you check out the internet, many people say it is not real. Okay? It's a forgery," Trump said. "And the other thing is, nobody has been able to see the day of his birth, they had twins born, they had the other one born. Nobody has been able to find any records that he was born in that hospital."

CNN released the results of its own investigation into the controversy earlier this year. Documents and statements from numerous public officials and childhood friends made clear that the president was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.

Wait a minute.... is Donald Trump saying Obama had a twin & they can't find the twin's birth records? (Next to last paragraph)

"Trump said. "And the other thing is, nobody has been able to see the day of his birth, they had twins born, they had the other one born. Nobody has been able to find any records that he was born in that hospital.""

Have I missed something? This is the first time I've EVER heard the "twin" theory. Perhaps the Donald is thinking of Elvis?

obviously perry is not the brightest person. in fact none of the GOP candidates are except for Romney, Huntsman, and Ron paul, the rest are just ignorant and will say anything to get the people's attention. In the end, the voters, at least I hope most of the voters will be intelligent enough to vote for the right candidate whether it be democrats or GOP

Translation: He is saying the average Republican that participates in the primaries is an ignorant oaf. The more rational ones will come out later.

Perry is the man who signed a bill allowing students and teachers to carry guns in Texas schools. He has now jumped on the birther bandwagon, without proving his own place of birth. You have to ask why only a black man has to show his birth certificate. How much more do people need to decide that this guy would be a complete disaster as president?

Every time Trump opens his mouth the country is exposed to more stupidity and hate. This guy is one of the biggest buffons alive and the only reason he has any voice at all is because his daddy gave him more money than he could ever squander. Although it is clear he has trouble taking care of the money (at least 1 but perhaps 2 bankruptcies). He is nothing but an orange faced idiot and the orange face is great because he is a clown.

Birther issue or not,Perry has zero chance of getting the Republican nomination.Once he drops out of the debates, his
campaign will quickly implode.Americans love a battler, and hate a quitter.Being good looking ain't enough to carry
the day,or the campaign for the nomination.Goodby Rick, you are a nice guy,but not made of presidential material.

I wonder wht Trump didn't produced his tax records like he said he would do? Is it because he has something to hide; and I'm sure he does!

Right. Because everyone agrees that what the country needs more than anything right now is a certifiable lunatic running it. Not to mention one that has a boat anchor like Donald Trump attached to their campaign.

This guy Trump, is not even a joke anymore, he is beyond redemption but then who is asking for it.

And Perry who has the brains proven to be in his butt, wants to copycat a dead, down in the gutter issue, which even the lame Trump realized will not get him anywhere near the primary win, let alone the presidency.

    What a bunch of morons!

This is so sad. The republican party has become such a joke. Mitt Romney is the only respectable candidate of the lot. MITT ROMNEY. I have been a left-of-center voter for years, and although I've never voted republican, I've always given them due consideration- even John McCain gave me (a few seconds) pause. But this group of candidates is the most appalling parade of clowns I've ever witnessed in an election. It's downright pathetic.

If Trump is so hot on seeing the facts, why doesn't he print all the details of his crooked real estate deals and bankrupt proceedings. He should be in jail with his buddy's Madoff and The crooks at Enron.

TRUMP and PERRY and CAIN are the three best things that could have happened to the Democratic Party in this election cycle. The three of them combined are almost a good to Democrats as Sarah Palin was. Keep shooting off your ignorance DONALD "CHUMP" TRUMP.

The only thing that could help Obama more than revisiting the birther nonsense is an independent Palin run.
