Congress considers Solyndra subpoena

Washington (CNN) - House GOP leaders announced Friday that they are laying the groundwork for Congress to issue a subpoena for internal White House documents regarding the decision to issue federal loan guarantees in 2010 to Solyndra, a solar energy company that has since filed for bankruptcy.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will meet Thursday to consider a resolution authorizing the issuance of the subpoena.

Why doesn't the White House pull something out of the GOP book and just refuse to cooperate? That was ok with the GOP when Cheney, Rove and the rest of them refused to cooperate with Congress. It takes real nerve to be a republican these days with everything they do being the height of hypocracy...

Will they have time to work in jobs creation bills? Just kidding. Republicans got nothing, and they show it every day.

It's about time this fraud by the Obama administration was exposed. $535 MILLION tax dollars WASTED after it was clear the company was not viable. I hope they are also getting Whitehouse records on all the visits to the Whitehouse by Solyndra's main investor, a major Obama campaign fund raiser. And THEN they violate the law by subordinating the loans to investor loans guaranteeing that the taxpayers LOSE ALL THEIR MONEY.

This whole thing stinks and stinks badly all the way up to high officlals in the administration. And these are the same clowns that want MORE TAX MONEY??!! Why, do they have more campaign supporters that they want to hand it to?

9% approval must not be low enough for republicans in the dysfunction congress. They even ignore their own voters and independents. The house, under Boner, has become the biggest welfare fraud in America.

Hard to believe that the rump swabs who vote republican, support the republican welfare group in congress.

Anybody else notice how the MSM has TOTALLY BURIED the Solyndra and "Fast & Furious" Obama scandels? Hmmm.... I wonder why? Hundreds of millions lost, American law enforcement killed with weapons supplied by the government, and almost complete dead silence. Hmmmm... Almost like somebody is protecting yet more Obama administration incompetence.

Do republicans read newpapers and fact check? Apparently not.

What I find so ironic is that Republicans have been ranting about repealing Sarbanes-Oxley. Now they want to issue subpoenas for information that that exact law requires to be kept on file.

Unfunded republican wars, unfunded republican tax cuts for the wealthy, unfunded tax breaks for big oil, unfunded republican bank bailouts, unfunded republican Wall Street bailouts, unfunded republican drug programs are examples of that 'sound fiscal conservatism' that added $5.5 trillion to our national debt.

Is this investigation part of a jobs bill? Or is it a typical bunch of political verbosity that always occurs when either party screws up?

The bottom line bush said no obama approved it after 3 dozen white house visits by solyndra handelers. Sounds like the classic insider deal gone bad to me.

The entire leadership within the DOE should be suspended pending an investigation. One bankrupt solar company, another barely hanging on and an electric car company that produces $100,000 luxury cars in Finland ? How does that benifit the average American ? Tesla was questionable but at least their cars are more affordable and are creating American Jobs.

Tear down the Obama Administration and their elitest ideals.

You are so right ConservaFASCISTS/TEAliban/TEAhadists !
Where are the freaking green jobs promised by Obama. Can you say Finland ?
And even that was just a handfull. We would have been better off dividing up the money and givem it directly to some unemployed folk.

It's Halloween weekend...let the witch hunts begin!!! This will be one way to see just how scared the GOP/Teatrolls are that they're not going to take the WH away from President Darky next year: they'll be trumping up investigations to influence the campaign/election process and trying to lay the foundation for another unjustified waste-of-time-and-money impeachment process if Obama wins in 2012. After all, if at first you don't succeed, cheat. Just ask the GOP in WI...they're trying to change the recall rules to save Walker's puppet a$$.

When will the republicans find time to work on repealing women's rights if they are doing this?

easydoes it is once again wrong. Bank bailouts passed in September 2008 (remember, McCain said the economy was 'cratering.'" Obama was sworn in in January 2009, when the stock market was under 8000.

TARP? HAHAHAHA. Wow. The GOP/Teatrolls must be outsourcing their astroturf trolls now...the quality has really gone down lately. Pro tip: the trick is to bury the lie you're trying to sell in a bunch of unicorn fart ideological rhetorical BS that gets cheers from the angry conservative extremists and touches on the socio-cultural resentments that are driving their current temper can't just say the lie outright or it's too obvious.

Maybe they'll investigate the Haliburton no-bid contracts next. Oh wait - that was Cheney/Bush - nevermind.
