Cain: My tax plan is better

Washington (CNN) - Despite the media swarm focused on the sexual harassment allegations surrounding Herman Cain, the presidential candidate aimed to defend his 9-9-9 tax plan and slinging a few arrows at his competitors during a fiscal policy discussion in Washington, D.C Monday.

Speaking at the American Enterprise Institute, Cain said his Republican opponents were "scrambling to come up with something" better than his proposal.

Heating up between Obama, Romney camps

(CNN) - A day after senior Obama adviser David Plouffe denounced Mitt Romney as a man with "no core," two other Obama aides added their own stinging criticisms against the Republican presidential hopeful – the latest sign the president's advisors have zeroed in on Romney as the likely GOP nominee.

As anyone who's watched [Mitt Romney], it's always a question as to where he was and where he is and where he might be on any given issue," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters in an off camera briefing Monday morning. Carney has previously held back direct attacks against Republican presidential contenders.

The shaping of a candidate: A look at Mitt Romney's faith journey

(CNN) - A cop arrived at the roadside wreckage of a June 1968 head-on collision in southern France, took one quick look at the Citroën's unresponsive driver and, according to one of the driver's friends, scrawled into the young man's American passport, "Il est mort" – "He is dead."

The man at the Citroën's wheel was Mitt Romney, who may have appeared dead but was very much alive - as is his bid today for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Perry: ‘I'm a doer, not a talker’

(CNN) - For the second time in two weeks, Rick Perry's blanketing Iowa with ads touting his record creating jobs.

"If you're looking for a slick politician or a guy with great teleprompter skills, we already have that, and he's destroying our economy. I'm a doer, not a talker," says the Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate, smiling into the camera. "In Texas we created 40% of the new jobs in the entire country since June of 2009. And we cut a record $15 billion from our state budget. Now they say we can't do that in Washington. Well, they're wrong, and they need to go."
