BLITZER’S BLOG: Cain keeping his head up despite controversy

Washington (CNN) - I saw Herman Cain briefly today in the CNN Washington bureau. He had just wrapped up a lengthy interview with HLN’s Robin Meade.

The Republican presidential candidate appeared to be in a good mood despite all the uproar over allegations that he sexually harassed two women back in the 1990s when he was head of the National Restaurant Association here in Washington. He had answered all of Robin’s blunt questions, clearly eager to move on.

Political Notebook: Listen as CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Bob Costantini discuss Herman Cain’s sexual harassment revelations and what it means to his candidacy. Plus, we’ll hear from a veteran campaign reporter from New Hampshire.

Way to fight back Herman!! Don't let these sleaze balls get to you. You had to know it was only a matter of time before they started the usual leftist slimeball atacks. They did the exact same thing with John McCain.

if the two victims r black women, Cain survives. But if they r white women, stick a fork in him cause he's done!

Demo- You do know that those 'sleaze balls' are republicans, don't you? This is the same thing that Rove did to McCain in 2000, and he is worried that Mittens will be rejected by the baggers.

CNN reporting nonsense about Cain "keeping his head up" instead of reporting on very real and very factually supported allegations that Cain's campaign broke all sorts of election and campaign finance laws ealier this year. Propping him up much? Trying to distract from the financing illegalities much?

"You had to know it was only a matter of time before they started the usual leftist slimeball atacks. "

Hey, junior, the left gets nothing out of rtaering Cain down during the Republican primary...Obama polls much better against him than against Mittens. Cowboy Fonzie on the other hand has much to gain by tearing down Cain: he's more likely to pick up the people supporting Cain than Mittens is. Of course, a reasoned approach that highlights the facts and likely motivators probably just goes right over your tinfoil hatted head.

Denocrat Party – leftist, blah blah blah, it was Karl Rove in 2000 who was truly slimy by insinuating MCCain was biracial. Please get your facts straight.

Wire palladin, S.F., I just realized this is our resident FOXNews echo-chamber boy we are attempting to reason with: I doubt he comes back to respond, probably too busy waiting to see if his disability check arrived.

But what about all the contributions/gifts from his manager's non-profit? Illegal use. Check the records.

I'm not so offended by the philandering – there are a lot of politicians who have been guilty of that – and time will ultimately judge. But what kills me is that he lies about it. And that it's so transparent. I dont know if i am offended more by the fact that he's lying to us, or that he thinks so little of our ability to reason.

This is Simple: He said he knew nothing about it. That was a lie. Then he said he remembered there was something that happened, but he didnt know the details. That was also a lie. Now he's admitting that he knew the details, and thought it was no big deal. Getting closer to the truth now... Where does this end? Jeez – it's like Clinton looking right into that camera and flatly denying ANY relationship to Lewinski all over again.

Hey Herm! We are not idiots. We see though these tissue-paper thin lies. And we will remember.

Demo- I am getting the impression you did not know that Karl and the Bush campaign let it slip that McCain fathered a back child. Check your facts. By the way, are you taking medication?

Oh man, even if it were remotely true about the alleged "allegations", who cares?? Clinton was president and he was a serial womanizer and rapist. Nobody cared. And Hillary covered for the creep. Herman is the man!

  17. Lost in Texas FOREVER and EVER

Herman Cain has the backing of his right wing base so this will far from dent his standings UNLESS it is found out that the women that have accused him are white..THEN I think it would be a problem. I always said and STILL believe had Anita Hill been a white woman Clarence Thomas would NOT be a SOTUS today.

Democrat, we've all seen your outrageous comments and attacks that have no basis in fact. The truth is, there was a rumor out in SC in 2000 that McCain was biracial. AS stupid as that sounds, it was cited by McCain as an example of the sleeziness Rove pulled, sleeziness Cain is feeling now. I would not be surprised if Rove was behind that with the blessing of Perry. Personally, I would love to see any of the top 3 go against IObama, because theya re supplying us with all the ammo we need to make sure they collapse.

GI JOE you and Sniffit have been posting this illegal use of campaign funds but still no story from CNN. Guess they are milking this latest scandal of Cain for all the advertising revenue that it is worth.
