Washington (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, are hosting House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and his wife, Diana, for dinner tonight.
It may seem like an unusual double date. Cantor has often been a thorn in the White House's side, pulling out of "the Biden talks" on deficit reduction in June to leave negotiations on raising the debt ceiling to President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner. Those negotiations ultimately failed to reach a "grand bargain" to reduce the deficit by several trillion dollars over ten years.
FULL STORY
Is Biden going to pull an Obama and invite Cantor for dinner only to insult and berate him? I'd be prepared for the worse Eric.
I am surprised to see that the article points out that Cantor walked out of debt ceiling. Republicans have been walking out of committee meetings, negotiations, and discussions since Obama took office. Most recently Boehner walked out on the President at the last minute during the debt ceiling fiasco. Sen. Coburn walked out and quit the "Gang of Six." Republicans walked out on negotions last spring during the government shutdown debacle with the FY2011 budget.
By June 2009, Republicans had collectively made a grand stand about not particpating in any health care reform committees or discussions, claiming they "didn't want to participate in the destruction of America." And, they have been riding on that "destructive" note ever since.
Eric Cantor never reach deal with Obama administration that is his policy
Did anyone read the full story? Apparently not, because if you did, you would have found out that this social dinner is a continuation of that friendship (Biden and Cantor) with their wives. By all means though, keep spewing the same old, tired respsonses that you all do on each and every article (Republicans this, Democrats that, blah blah blah). All it does is continue to show how closed mind some of you really are.
Mr. Vice President, you should take back your invitation. We can't negotiate with Cantor. Break bread? You should take that loaf of bread and smack him upside his greasy head.

...Stop drinking the tea and listening to right wring demagogues.. Read the polls. Cain would lose in a landslide if he were the nominee of the Grand Old Tea Party.

There's only one candidate the Republicans could nominate who would give Obama a chance of winning and I don't think that's going to happen. Jimmy Carter is not coming out of retirement and he is still a Democrat.

What a joke. LOL Is that supposed to be a joke? It seems like it. That's best you could do. What you just wrote would get you kicked of The Gong Show. The moderator must have been out to lunch. Come on. Pick up the pace, Four. You have written some things that have been quite eloquent in the past. That is not up to your own par. You're racing to the bottom with "somebody" else, and you're winning. Your handicap is 50 for that comment.
