Cain gets testy with reporters

Alexandria, Virginia (CNN) - All of the questions may be getting to Herman Cain.

The GOP presidential candidate was a bit touchy Wednesday when questioned by reporters about claims he sexually harassed two women in the late 1990's during his time as head of the National Restaurant Association.

"Don't even bother asking me all of these questions," Cain said to reporters.

Then the conservative businessman raised his voice.

"Excuse me," Cain yelled. "What part of no do you not understand," he asked.

The incident occurred inside a Northern Virginia hotel where Cain met with a group of conservative physicians.

Cain's security staff then pushed their way through a scrum of reporters and photographers to escort the candidate into a conference room where he made a statement to the doctors.

Reporters attempted to ask Cain whether he would call on the National Restaurant Association to release the two women from non-disclosure agreements that they reportedly signed in order to receive settlement payments from the lobbying group.

A lawyer representing one of the women told CNN he plans to ask the National Restaurant Association for a release from those agreements, citing Cain's comments as a potential violation of the conditions of those settlements.

Cain's Chief of Staff, Mark Block indicated talks to release the women from their non-disclosure agreements may be underway.

Holding a phone up to his ear, Block said to CNN: "This may be the call now."

"Should be an interesting 48 hours," he added.

The story on the harassment complaints and settlements were first reported by POLITICO.

Cain has denied he sexually harassed the women.

Cain seems like a mean old black man. I am afraid of him and I don't think he will make a good president or vice president. Cain is scary.

Be civil and responsive to the media Cain.
You are where you are as much because of the media created hype about your candidacy, as by the untold hundreds of thousands of dollars that the Koch brothers have funneled your way to buy an unqualified nobody like you and turn him into a foolish nominee controlled by them.

Why wasn't a former CEO prepared. As a former CEO he and his campaign should have had a prepared statement ready to go as soon as the story broke. Making a circus out of it by accusing liberals and "factions are out to get me”. You make your statement and you don't look back. Those are the candidates that go on to win. This tells me that chances are Mr. Cain did not disclosed this to his campaign advisors. A former CEO should know better.

What kind of stupid question is "Are you concerned about these women coming forward?"? Why SHOULD he answer such drivel? I'm not a Cain supporter but these reporters are obnoxious and useless. (Unless they're on some other politician's payroll)

@Democrat Party – leftist "progressive" socialist communist losers hellbent on destroying the USA

Right. Because his economic plan is something that will be beneficial to the USA.

And, speaking on your name, you think the republican party is immune to such a statement? When they come into office and state their entrie goal is to ensure that Obama is not re-elected? It wasn't to help the country, to restore jobs, to repair the economy, to get our troops out of the line of fire... it was to ensure Obama was not re-elected. Yes... truly a group of individuals with their priorities in order.

"I did not sexually harass those women. Wait, which two? Oh, those two? No, not those two. They were asking for it. I don't know how you can construe two women clearly wanting to get it on as harassment. Plus, they were paid for their services. What do you mean that's called a settlement?"

Of course Herman would get "testy" answering questions about the allegations. Whenever someone doesn't want a subject brought to light, they always get "testy" when questioned about the incident.

I think Herman should concentrate on pizzas and forget about being POTUS. He knew he would never be the GOP/tp nominee, Herman's really trying to get the VP spot.

I can't understand why Cain would get testy with a biased mainstream media, who is complicit in smearing him, and who are in, and always have been in the tank for obama ???

Cain is toast. His multiplicity of non-answers sank him on Monday, but like Palin, Bachman, Santorum, Huntsman, Gingrich, and Ron Paul, he has not yet recognized that he has no chance. It's hard enough to believe that he really want to be president since he has so little organization, but this story will cut into his padding his bank account.

In another thread on the topic I wrote:
I don't believe Cain (or any hard core TEA Partier) can win in a general election, so I can't think of even one good reason that ANY Democrat would bring this out...
At least not now. If a Democrat were going to release this information, I would think that they would wait till the General election when Republicans would be "stuck" with him as a candidate and when the information would cost him the most support.

Mitt Romney has the most to gain from this, but my bet is on either Newt Gingrich (because he's Dick Cheney hard core) or, my personal favorite, Michelle Bachmann (because she is just that mean spirited).

Consider that drooling, Kool-Ade drinking, tin foil hat wearing TEA Party sycophant "REPUBLICANS" are willing to let Patriotic Americans suffer in the jobless stew that THEY CREATED.
Why would they/you push the country go to ruin like this?
In an attempt to remove President Obama from office – it won't work!

Cain is coming apart at the seems day by day. If he would have just denied, and ignored in the first place, he would not be in this position, but nooooooooooooooooo he had to run to Faux News and explain the harassment errrrrrrrr I mean the allegations of harassment. Oh and nice of you Cain not to acknowledge that it is your own party, Politico, a conservative based internet site that is throwing you under the bus, where quite frankly you belong.

  25. generally objective

I actually watched and listened to the video. I am not sure that Jim Acosta did. Here's why. Acosta wrote ""Excuse me," Cain yelled. "What part of no do you not understand," he asked." Well when I listen to the video, carefully, Cain seemed to SAY not YELL "what part of no don't these people don't understand?" He didn't yell that remark, and he didn't appear to say what Acosta wrote. Where Cain DID raise his voice was when he said "EXCUSE ME" rather loudly.

I would say this is subjective blogging, not objective reporting. IMHO.
