Cain: Harassment claims 'not working'
(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain told Sean Hannity on his nationally syndicated radio program Thursday that the sexual harassment allegations against him are "not working."
"The American people are starting to see through this stuff," Cain said, pointing to a recent poll showing him doing well in the GOP race.

Mr. Cain, we are not as concerned about the harassment claims as we are about your performance in a crisis. We are also curious about where the money came from, and how much of it came out of your pocket, Mr. Cain.

Actually I'm just starting to get interested. Nothing like a good old fashioned he said-she said to keep one glued to the news. But now I want to hear what she said, and also any additional witnesses to the incident(s).

These are NOT sexual harassment "allegations," they are the reporting of the FACT that a settlement agreement was made with two women that involved payment to them (in one case, a year's severance, approximately $35,000) in exchange for their silence regarding their sexual harassment claims.
Hey, CNN, you need to report this accurately. These are NOT allegations; this is FACT.

He may be doing well with Republicans, they don't seem to have any ethics, but with the rest of the country, not so much.

Actually, no. The amont was $45,000 and IT WAS NOT SEVERANCE...IT WAS EXPLICITLY A SETTLEMENT AMOUNT FOR HER CLAIM. She was making approximately $35,000 per year, so Cain purposefully obfuscated by conflating the two and claiming that she was paid about a year's salary as though ti was severance. IT WAS NOT. Given that the value of these claims are based on the claimant's salary, a $45K settlement payment to someone who makes $35K/year is actually a substantial settlement...not a small payoff to make her go away.

Actually, the allegations apparently worked to obtain at least one woman a financial settlement.

So, Herman, if you didn't do anything improper, why did the National Restaurant Association settle at least three claims of sexual harassment against you?
You are just digging yourself deeper into this mess by blaming everyone but yourself. How many times have you changed your explanation of these events?
Unbelievable that the press is focused on this when the truth is they are beginning to investigate his campaign for Felony campaign finance charges. This guy also supported TARP which whether your a D or R, you should be outraged about this. Whether these specific allegations are true or not, I obviously don't know. However, if you combine this with the felony investigation, inability to understand and makes sense on foreign policy, support of TARP and more. This is ridiculous. The Obama machine will destroy this guy. Why don't you just nominate Sarah Palin again, please vet these people on your own since the media will only cover sensationalism.
