Bachmann: I would create 'millions of jobs'

(CNN) – Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is confident that when it comes to jobs, she would be a rainmaker as president.

“I have no doubt that we would create millions of jobs,” she said Friday of her prospective presidency, shortly before the October jobs report reflected a dip in unemployment.

The NBC interview took place before the official report that unemployment has decreased to 9% was released, but Bachmann made sure to lay blame for the economy’s shortfalls where she saw fit.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said if we passed Obamacare we’d create four million jobs,” she said. “I talk to job creators all the time in Iowa, they aren’t hiring because of Obamacare, because of all the tax increases that are involved.”

And on the issue of taxes, the third term congresswoman who’s seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president said it’s time that all Americans start paying up.

“I want [tax rates] flatter, fairer, simpler,” Bachmann said.

“Only 53% of the American people pay any federal income tax, 47% of the American people pay zero federal income tax, that’s not fair. Everyone benefits from this magnificent country, everyone needs to pay something, even if it’s only $10,” she continued.

“I believe we have to broaden the base to include every American. It’s about time and it’s only fair.”

Facing down rumors of trouble within her campaign, Bachmann asserted that “we are working very hard and we’re very strong.” Five members of her team resigned in October, including the manager of her New Hampshire campaign, but Bachmann argued that staff turmoil is not on the minds of everyday people.

“Not one person has asked me about who we’re hiring or who our staff is,” she said. “What they say to me is, ‘Michele, I really like your plan.’”

Bachmann has been spending a lot of time in the first-in-the-nation caucus state where she won the critical Iowa Straw Poll in August, and where she hopes to finish strongly in the first presidential nominating contest on Jan.4.

“Mine is a pro-growth, pro-job plan, that’s what people want, that’s what they’re excited about here in Iowa,” she said.

Why does she even speak. Pretty much everything she says is patently false. Someone should repeal her.

Explain to me exactly why you can't do that now from the current position you have? Why do you have to be President to get this done? Why can't you work with the Dems to accomplish this now? Why should we have to wait until 2013 for this "magic" to happen? Why do you persist in stating misleading fabrications?

I have a solution to creating several jobs. Why don't we start by firing all those in the House of Representative and replacing them with people who will actually WORK ON CREATING JOBS!

Millions of jobs. Most of them to explain to her how science works, basic economic principles, how when somebody tells you something you need to check facts before repeating it, etc.

This reminds me of McCain, who during his campaign told us, "I'll get Osama bin Laden. I know how to get him." If Senator McCain knew how to get bin Laden, why didn't he share that information with then Pres. Bush? In the end, the guy we elected president is really the one who "knew how to get him." Same with Bachmann: If she knows how to create 1 million jobs, maybe she should share that information with Obama. Either she has no clue (most likely), or if she does, she's decided that politics are more important than helping people, which is not a quality I want in my president. Please, just go away, Ms. Bachmann, because you are just the worst kind of person: You are either baldly lying, or you are exploiting people's misfortunes for political gain.

Easy to say, but they never say how they would do that, just pull jobs out of the sky, or better yet give the "job creators" 12 more years of tax breaks to do what they haven`t done yet!!!

So, lets see.. her plan looks to be... cut taxes for the wealthy and increase taxes on the poorest. And that is supposed to create jobs? Maybe the crazy twit should take a long hard look at things like tax subsidies for oil companies, the corporations that are paying no taxes (rather than the poor), and the low tax rates that all these "job creators" who aren't creating jobs (supposedly because of a plan that won't actually come online for 4 more years) have been paying, as they are benefiting from this country and its economy FAR more than the poorest people who don't even make enough to pay taxes right now. Want me to pay taxes? Give me a job and a living wage. Stop subsidizing the wealthy.

Sniffit, we all know our little FOXNews echo-chamber is the one in a fantasy world, so explaining the truth and how the real world operates is a wste of your energy. The fact that anyone could be launching into any defense of the MN wingnut is proof they live in a world where their ideology, not experience, governs their decisions. Your critiques are too-weell thought out, which is why our little friend hates them. Keep up the good work.

If she has such magical powers, why is she not using them in the House of Reprehensibles, to which she was elected and nominally belongs, in order to create those jobs now?

The other day, she talked about some earthquake and hurricane that devastated lifes as a sign from God. How callous can that sound or she just appointed herself as the "God chosen" to send message? Now she says she can create millions of jobs. Has she forgotten she is a member of the Congress or she is just delusional?

Food for thought: If you cannot help 'now'. Please, for the sake of us disgruntled about these whole thing. Keep Shut.

Michelle, care to elaborate? The national economy is NOT a subject that can be written on a cue card and discussed with any validity. Please quit trying to be a responsible adult, and go back to bilking the state of Minnesota for taking foster children for profit into your home so you can have another revene stream.

No president I don't care WHO he or she is can create jobs without the help of Congress. If Bachmann gets a do nothing Congress like Obama has she will create just as many jobs. These candidates need to STOP lying to the average American who really thinks a POTUS can create jobs by himself. It is a myth.
