Author of Arizona immigration law faces recall vote

(CNN) - The state senator who wrote Arizona's controversial immigration law faces a recall election Tuesday in what is considered a referendum on public support for tough measures against illegal immigrants.

Russell Pearce, a fifth-generation Arizonan representing a suburban Phoenix district, is challenged by fellow Republican Jerry Lewis in the election forced by recall petitions seeking Pearce's ouster.

"I call upon my supporters and those supporting my opponent to bring the rhetoric and personal attacks to an end," said Russell Pearce.

How noble of Mr. Pearce...his SB1070 rhetoric has done more harm than good for the state of Arizona. Arizona needs a JOBS industry RIGHT NOW! If Arizona had cared anything about illegal immigration they should have done what was necessary DECADES ago to control it, instead the illegal labor pool was exploited by the greedy in this state, which led to all this illegal immigration, and now that the housing bubble has burst and killed the construction industry here, Arizon is stuck with an imigration mess.

Out with the OLD guard; you didn't do your jobs in the first place!

Wow if the government will not do their job then lets go after the person who will do their job.

I didn't ever think that our government would do this because we have a President who picks the laws that should be enforced and let the states pay for illegals what a joke of a President we have.

Why do we even have boarders just open them up and let everyone in and we will support them with tax dollars they don't even pay here.

What in the hell are you thinking drop the suits and do your jobs or let the States do theirs.
