Gingrich: I'm the tortoise, Romney's the hare
(CNN) - Newt Gingrich predicted Tuesday that rival Mitt Romney will be one of the final remaining candidates in the Republican presidential contest, but that it's Gingrich's responsibility to provide a set of solutions to those still uncommitted.
Gingrich, the former House Speaker, said there's a "big opportunity for an alternative candidate," given that Romney has not attracted more than 25% support in most national and statewide polls of current candidates.
"My job I think is to reach out to the 75 or 80% who aren't currently committed to Romney and to say here's a set of solutions that would actually get us back on the right track," Gingrich told ABC News.
While Romney's poll numbers have largely plateaued, Gingrich has seen his numbers rise after his campaign was dogged by controversy throughout the summer.
If his solution-based plan succeeds, Gingrich said Romney will be forced to stop his momentum.
"I'm not worried about stopping Romney," Gingrich said. "I'm worried about reaching that 75 to 80% who aren't currently committed to him."
In an interview Tuesday with CNN's Piers Morgan, Gingrich equated his plight to an Aesop fable: "The bunny rabbit runs by and falls asleep. The tortoise just keeps coming," Gingrich said. "So hopefully in this game, Mitt Romney will be the bunny rabbit and I'll be the tortoise. That would all work out perfectly."

Obama is a failure, has to go. Gingrich has the correct approach to increasing the wealth of those in the middle class and poverty pockets. Obama just wants to party, and his wife wants to outdo the last black Queen, Cleopatra.
Newt the philanderer doesn't have a chance in H-ll of being the GOP candidate.This guy left such a bad taste in Americas taste and memory that he couldn't win a position of dog catcher if he was the only one running for that position. I do not believe that Ginghrich likes or would vote for himself.

I can't understand how anyone could say Obama makes sense in 2012. What about his Presidency has made sense? Please explain that to me? If you believe the markets are in recovery mode you are kidding yourself. The market will correct itself once we get Obama out of office along with his horrible policies.

Obama has a 54% disapproval rating ... only 45% approve (Rasmussen). Sunday's polls had Romney up +1 over Obama (ABC/Washington Post). Friday had Obama and Romney tied (USA Today/Gallup).
How Obama isn't running away from everyone is beyond me. Such a complete and total failure.

If Cain is brought down, Gingrich will be the only viable Tea Party candidate (relatively speaking when compared to Romney) left standing. Gingrich of course has personal baggage, but I doubt if Republicans or Independents will care. This next month is going to be very interesting.
