Protesters 'occupy' Bachmann foreign policy speech
(CNN) - Protesters disrupted Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann's foreign policy speech in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on Thursday, causing Bachmann to briefly leave the stage until the disturbance was over.
About a dozen protesters stood up and delivered a coordinated message, in a call-and-response format, which drowned out the Minnesota congresswoman's remarks.
A group calling itself Occupy Charleston claimed credit for the disruption, but in a message on its website said Bachmann was not the target of the action.
"She is a representative of the institutional and legal corruption that has infected our country - a system of corruption that values profit over people and is driven by the financial interests of the few against the many," the message read.
One of the protesters chanted, "We have a message for Ms. Bachmann" and the line was repeated by the group in unison.
The noise level aboard the historic aircraft carrier USS Yorktown increased when Bachmann supporters yelled at the protesters to sit down but they continued, saying, "Blaming people that disagree with you, unpatriotic socialists… this does not help the American people."
The Occupy group chanted "We are the 99 percent" as they disembarked the aircraft carrier.
Bachmann appeared shaken as a police officer escorted her off the stage, but she returned a few minutes to finish her speech.
"Don't you just love the First Amendment? It's great, we have a great country and I want to thank you all for your understanding," she said.

Seems like anyone concerned with facts instead of hyperbole would naturally disagree with Bachmann on many things. She's as uniformed as she is inflamatory.

As long as it's not libel, slander or unpublishable words (the only limits to the First Ammendment that everybody I know agrees with, including me)... it's game.
Not a fan of Michelle, but the action of these "protestors" is disgusting. If you don't like the message or beliefs, you say so on your own ground and in your own time. You don't march in and disrupt some one else's right to assembly... unless of course, you are reading from the "How to Control Society Handbook" published by Nazi Press.

The First Amendment allows anyone to speak but doesn't force anyone to listen. As Ms. Bachmann and her dwindling crowd of supporters have proved time and again. Cause and effect? I wonder...

This outburst reminds of the anti-reform Tea Party gate crashers at town halls being conducted by Democratic members of the House. Outbursts that curiously enough passed over the Republican members. The Tea Party heckled members over financial reform and health care reform. Apparently, that was a patriotic exercise of their freedom of speech by the Tea Party gate crashers. Times change. Standards change.
Don't interrupt her! Let her speak and will say enough stupid things to convince the world of how moronic Tea Party is. Let her speak!
Ever seen a liberal speaker shouted down by conservative protestors? Seldom. Why is it that liberal groups, particularly at universities, don't want a conservative's message to even be heard???
I can not believe that some psople still try to defend the bad behavior of those adults. You can disagree, dislike, .. whatever you want but behave like that only shows your low-level of human being. Animal do not talk or discuss, but either be quiet or yelling and fighting. The next step of yelling is physical beating. You are very close to that, good luck.
Who cares what a bunch of stinky, hippy, leaches think anyway. Most OWC members are professional protestors who move from site to site depending upon who is paying them or giving them dope.
