"Absolutely," Perry said in an interview on Fox News. "I think Barack Obama is a socialist."

Washington (CNN) – A Republican state senator from Utah said he's leaning toward challenging GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch, a six-term incumbent who faces re-election next year in a state with a highly charged, anti-Washington political climate.
"[Hatch] has a record and an attitude that Washington gets to dictate to Utah, and he and other senators get to dictate policy to Utah," Dan Liljenquist told CNN Friday. "That's not what balanced federalism was intended to be."

Washington (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain on Friday seemed to suggest Libya's developing government, which is set to succeed the fallen regime of Moammar Gadhafi, contains elements of the terrorist groups al Qaeda and the Taliban.
The comments came during a media availability in Orlando, where Cain sought to clarify his bungled response Monday on whether he agreed or disagreed with President Barack Obama's handling of the situation in Libya during an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Washington (CNN) - Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who aligns himself with the Democratic Party, said he's disappointed in the president's handling of the nation's debt situation.
