Obama 2012 targets female vote

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's reelection campaign launched a new initiative, "Women for Obama," to encourage female voters to get involved in the 2012 race, according to Obama for America.

First lady Michelle Obama will serve as honorary chair of the group, tasked with the expanding the female vote and increasing their participation in the electoral process.

"Women are at the heart of everything we do, and they are at the heart of this campaign," Obama said on a conference call Friday, according to a statement. "You are all at the heart of your families, at the heart of our communities and your neighborhoods."

The new group, an arm of Operation Vote, will enable women to communicate with campaign leadership and have a voice in the campaign strategy, according to the release.

According to CNN National Exit Polls, Obama won 56% of the female vote in the 2008 presidential election.

Women also want jobs for their kids and husband and a government that isn't overtaxing them in order to funnel money to your green jobs scam. Women want lower prices for food to feed their families, not the sky rocketing cost of food and fuel Obama ha sbrought us.

Gov't isn't overtaxing anyone. It's undertaxing the rich who are underpaying everyone else. Taxes are at historic lows and we're staring at the deficits and debt problems caused by that. The math is very simple. You don't cut revenue BEFORE you cut expenses...that is the height of fiscal irresponsibility...and yet it is precisely what the GOP did in order to set up the current situation and then use it as justification for gutting all the programs the middle class relies on and which the GOP's corporate masters don't want interfering with our dependence and subservience to their plutocratic agenda.

    Okay Democrat Class Warfare-

Would you care to explain why Obama is at fault for rising food prices? I am sure it is his fault that grain and feed prices have increased, as well as plant and equipment, etc. But of course, your analysis took these factors into account. You really need to come down to reality Bozo.

Women should be for the President since one of the first acts he did as President is pass the Lilly Ledbetter Act. While republicans in Congress are more concerned about a womans right to choose and planned parenthood. Stay out of womens OBGYN offices and focus on creating JOBS!

Fact Check: The price of gas in the spring of 2008 was $4.50 per gallon, and a barrel of oil had hit $147. Then the global economy collapsed immediately following our own. Those prices were the new normal under the Bush administration.

The price had fallen to under $2 per gallon by Obamas' inauguration day because of the near complete collaspe of the global economy, and the sudden oil surplus on the world oil market as production outraced demand; and not to mention all of those oil speculators that got put out of jobs.

The oil prices you see today are simply signs of the recovering global economy. The prices for oil and gas still haven't hit pre-Collapse levels. With a Republican in the White House, we are guaranteed to see those levels within 3-4 months.

BTW, I hope she understands the election laws and that NONE of this can be done from the Whitehouse. Use of government funds or property for campaigning IS AGAINST THE LAW. Not that anybody in the Obama administration follows the laws of this nation. Just ask law breaking energy buffoon Chu. Or Mr. "give weapons to Mexican drug dealer" Holder.

9% unemployment = "the recovering global economy"??? So you are saying that 9% unemployment is the new "norm"??? I would have to agree, as long as Obama and the Democrats control government, it won't be falling any time soon.

And Obama will get the female vote. It's 2011 – and you'd think by now that HALF of the voters in this country would be courted by all parties, but not so at all. The Republicans have thrown women under the bus, just like they did minorities, gays, students, seniors, and those that might need affordable healthcare (all of us). Inanely stupid move, GOP!

@"Democrat Class Warfare" – Almost all economists agree, no matter what party they lean towards, that with outsourcing unchecked and still skyrocketing, our new standard of unemployment will be much higher than our old standard. It will never be 4-6% again. And you can blame CONGRESS for this.

Egads.... THREE YEARS LATER Obama has done NOTHING to help the situation. All forecasts are for MORE OF THE SAME. He was elected because he said he had the answers to the problems. The FACT is HE has turned into the problem now. His failed policies have only made things WORSE.

Four more years of OBAMA ECONOMIC FAILURE will destroy what i sleft of this country. If Obamacare is fully enacted, our demise will be accelerated even more.

@Democrat Class Warfare – Your first comment doesn't hold any water either. Obama has not raised taxes at all. In fact taxes are the lowest, as a % of GDP, now as they were back in the 1950's. You are very transparent in your unfounded arguments that attempt to place blame without any substance to back it up.

Demo- Ever hear of 'operation wide receiver?' From 2005-2007 the Bush adminsistration lost countless guns to the Mexican cartels. Bush never was much into accountability, but we know it could have been over 500 weapons.

"Demo and the other right wingnuts- Each day, your posts are getting nuttier and nuttier. "

Pew polls yesterday showed Obama nationally beating every single GOPer running for POTUS. They're going to get more and more shrill and they get more and mroe desperate. You see, the conservative mind doesn't accept it when reality takes a big steamy dump on their ideology. Rather, they go into defense mechanism mode: "we must now believe it harder, do it more extremely, shout it louder and repeat it more often until reality stops disobeying and comes around to our way of thinking." Feedback from reality that is contrary to the way they believe the universe operates is not met with introspection and adaptation, but rather denial, fear, anger and resentment and a healthy helping of foot-stomping "I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT!!!!" toddler-style tantrums.
