Perry flubs U.S. voting age

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

This guy is a complete moron. It's astonishing to me that even a single person would vote for him.

There are lots of great people in Texas but it must be as embarrassing to be a Texan and have such dim bulbs as Perry & Bush represent you as it is for the Alaskans, the majority of whom cringe that Sarah Palin "represents" their state. I find it embarrassing as a human, let alone an American, that these people are even candidates!

I can assure that this is a feature not a bug: voting rights mean nothing to Cowboy Fonzie or the rest of the TX GOP (or the rest of the GOP, period). Just look at the trouble the TX GOP is in for trying to screw hispanics out of voting power with their redistricting plan. You know, that whole DOJ/Voting Rights Act thing that CNN and the rest of the MSM are pointedly ignoring.

That's it Gov Perry, after you lose the nomination you can blame it on changing the date and the voting age. Perry for President 2013 or 2014.

The election he is campaigning for at the moment, happens on January 10 2012. If he doesn't make a strong showing on that day which is very soon in coming, his campaign will quickly become irrelevant.

Maybe he meant what he said, considering that 18-21 year olds may not have been exposed to Brainwash Inc. (= Fox News) long enough to consider voting for him.

"President Obama's slow ride down Gallup's daily presidential job approval index has finally passed below Jimmy Carter, earning Obama the worst job approval rating of any president at this stage of his term in modern political history."

lol....I thought it was impossible to be worse than Jimmy Carter but, by golly, Barry has accomplished the impossible.

The GOP wants to deny voting rights for the 99% anyway. so if you're not a rich old white male, why should Perry care?

Ooooh. A double play. Two candidates out of the race on the same day. The crowds roar.

Does this mean that Santorum or Huntsmann will soon get their day to be top candidate? We all know that Newt cannot hold his position for the next 5-6 weeks if he doesn't keep his mouth shut.
