Perry flubs U.S. voting age

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

    @ Slag
While Perry was flying fighter jets, Obama was hanging out with his communist friends and experimenting with drugs......

You mean Ricky Perry, the Junior Varsity Cheer boy? And he flew C-130 transport aircraft. That's a far cry from fighter jets. Nice try, though!

Only in Texas could an imbecile like Rick Perry be elected to the office of Governor. The man cannot go 7 days w/o a stupendously dumb comment. Can you imagine holding elected public office as long as he has and not knowing the voting age? Wow, what a M-O-R-O-N.

I would not have known that Rick Perry and others GOP candidates are bunch of morons. Before this time,I used to think highly of these idiots, not knowing they were not smarter than a 4th grader.I do not support the incubent president, but He's far knowledgeable than these mediocres. I can still have confidence in Obama to do this great nation of America proud in the international community than any of GOP's. I believe American's electorate will do the right thing like they have always been come Nov. 16 oops! I mean Nov.6th

all election ballets should include "none of the above". if "none of the above" wins the election, a new election with all new candidates would be scheduled. when all you give voters are bad choices, you get bad results for America. if 2012 was like this, i guarantee Obama vs any republican candidate would result in a win for "none of the above". gov. perry would lose in a one man race to NOTA.

Did not know he could count to 18, much less 21. I thought his limit was 2 (3 if you count the "forgot.").

"So, you liberals think Obama has done a good job, right? He certainly has succeeded in his mission to destroy the country, little by little."

Really? So you went to the school of Perry, huh? This country has been in the toilet for years and it seems to coincide with the intelligence level of the average American (Merican).
