Perry flubs U.S. voting age

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

this is the kind of thinking we have been dealing with in the Lone Star State, the longest term governor of Texas.
Facts and reality? useless and gets in the way of the greater good, Perry's vision for Texas and America to be dictated to the rest of the world. At least Obama has command of the facts. The GOP candidates: just lemmings on a one way trip to the sea.

Has it occurred to anyone that someone has to be putting these clowns out there to try and make Romney look good. It's something a rich daddy or brother would do,knowing it's the only way!! It's beyond reason to have a character like Cain or Perry running for president!! Let alone Bachmann who has to be Perry's long lost sister who had been ejected from a jet he was flying years ago when he pushed the wrong button!! Thought it said elected!!

Perry couldn’t find his way off of a dead end street without serious intervention.

Brilliant strategy by Perry. He knew that most people in college are too smart to vote for him, so he tried to trick them into thinking the election was a week later and that only college Seniors could vote! What a great way to suppress the vote!

Reminds me of those e-mails about Democrats voting on Wednesday, to avoid lines.....

Someday he might hire a speech writer if he becomes POTUS.
Maybe not, save money: penny wise, dollar foolish.

It just shows that he hasn't been paying attention to what is going on in his state and the country. With this flub, how can we really trust him to lead the country.

Oh yeah – he's a putz. But how much air time did Oboy's similar goof of 57 states get. Not much. But then calling attention to his mistakes is racism

The GOP sees intelligence as a handicap. Sometimes, it shows rather blatantly.

Perry, brother, you can still do this... all you have to do is keep your mouth shut and don't say a word between now and next November... can you do that? No? Oh well.

As a Texan, I feel as though I need to apologize to the rest of the country for this moron. I don't know who let him out of his crate. If you catch him, please send him back so we can lock him back up. Thanks!

Perry has shown he is poorly educated.
Can't tell from this from about whether he is bright or not.

I see most of you are struggling to understand this quite perplexing phenomenon, so let me help. People like Perry come from a privileged background; people told them they were great all their lives while the smart people did everything behind the scenes. After a lifetime of this, they naturally start to think that they could be President of the US. Suddenly the “emperor has no clothes” syndrome comes into effect, and the American people are left scratching their heads.

I know they work for corporations and are there to serve those who bought and paid for them. The election is like a tacky carnival ride where men in overalls have to step in and prop up the mechanical puppets.

And just a week ago, Obama was in Hawaii and addressed a group of businessmen and said, " here in Asia"
What a loon, grew up in Hawaii and thinks Hawaii is in Asia? No wonder Obama refuses to release his transcripts.
He proved to America that he is incapable of holding that office, and next year he will be gone. What a moron.

If folks gave Bush two terms to mess up the country and now Republicans have control... I think I can give Obama another term especially with these current cretins.

How does Texas keep electing morons for governors? He and Cain need to go, and voluntarily thin out the already mediocre republican herd.
