Perry flubs U.S. voting age

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

Listen here, only Rick Perry can deliver this country from evil. We must support him! Send him money! He will make our nation one of fighting Christians. He will make sure the wealthy do not suffer this economic downturn which is a good thing. It's the middle class that should have to pay more. Rick will eliminate all foreigners. He will send them back to thier country. He will make sure that this country lives by strict Christian principles.

I know he will be the greatest president we have ever had.

"Everything is relative. People are not happy with the way things are going, but if you are going to reference the polls, as you did, you have to also consider that by a wide margin, they blame the GOP more than the President – which is accurate."

We can only hope. The past 3 years have been a giant GOP/Teatroll experiment in seeing if they can purposefully destroy the reputation and perception of the gov't while a Dem is in the WH...even to the point where their own approval rating in Congress takes more of a beating than the Dems' or the POTUS'...in order to win a pyrrhic victory and install their chosen plutocrat puppet as POTUS in the next election based solely on the theory of making things so bad that everyone in the country throws up their hands and wants anyone currently involved in gov't out of office. "Gov't is broken...see...we broke it!!!!"

Let's see, any CNN "Latest News" archives on Obama regarding the intercontinental railroad that the US built somewhere in these 57 states by one of our corpse-men that speaks Austrian that attended the bowling special olympics? Nope.

This guy is a buffoon, we don't need another red neck Texas cowboy in the WH, we should learn from our past mistakes GW comes to mind, and I voted for him. . . . .twice. Shame on me.

Incredible. CNN always reports flubs by Republicans, but I still cannot find any mention of the speech Obama gave recently where he said Hawaii was part of Asia!

And don't forget, Obama said he'd visited 57 of the US states and only had one more to go! Seems stupid has no party affiliation!

We should ask all presidential candidates to take the citizenship exam – in case they fail they should be deported.

    I hope Perry speaks Spanish!!

This is among the GOP's finest?!? Perry should really stay in Texas and leave the job of governing and being President to the educated grownups.

The Republicans should revisit their whole "knowing stuff is bad" philosophy. I just don't think it plays well.

Is he really that dumb, or does he drink? This is certainly not the first time that he has said something that dumb, and I'm guessing that it won't be the last.

American politics Teapublican style. Aren't they ashamed to offer up such incompetent candidates!? First, there was W. Then McCain hoisted Palin on us as if we're brain dead. Now Perry and his gang of misfits. But I guess they represent their percentage of the electorate. Sad but unfortunately true. Suzuki Roshi said, "Seek perfection in imperfection." But this is ridiculous.
