Perry flubs U.S. voting age

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

Would someone PLEASEEEEEE!!! tell Perry that he is running for president of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and not the president of SESAME STREET.

Why are we surprised ?..... the GOP lineup for president looks like the entire cast escaped from JEFF DUNHAM's trunk. Herman Cain is Sweet Daddy Dee, Newt is Walter, Perry is Bubba J, Romney is Melvin, Bachman is Diane, Huntsman is peanut, Ron Paul is Achmed the dead terrorist and Santorum is his son Achmed Jr. I LOVE AMERICAN POLITICS.

That the Republican Party considers this man and the rest of them serious candidates for President, worth millions of dollars in donations, indicates the level of rot within the GOP. Fringe candidates like Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Santorum, etc are always around but a mature political party finds ways to keep them on the sidelines. When they are the front-runners – even for a week – it's a sure sign of political senility within the party base. Even if a moderate like Romney or Huntsman eventually prevails, the people supporting these candidate-like-objects will be demanding – and getting – a seat at the policy table. No, thank you.

Perry is hillarious. I hope he stays in the race and wins the nomination. The though of Obama debating this dude makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

  7. Which is worse?

Screwing up the voting age or screwing up how many states exist in the United States of America? Hard to say one represents more of a bonehead moment than the other, isn't it?

Well, nothing new there. Politicians mess up dates, and details, all the time.

Trust me I think we've had one too many Texans already as President, but give the guy a break, everyone makes mistakes. On the other hand, the head of the NH House of Representatives wants to raise the voting age to 21, because he says that younger kids vote for Democrats too much. I am not making this up... guess it is okay to go die for your country, but don't be expecting to be influencing the process by which you would be sent to get killed by voting. So maybe it's not a mistake, maybe Republicans just think liberals and anyone else that might disagree with them should go fight their wars for them.

Oh dear. Poor Perry, the national spotlight is not serving him well. Bachman, Perry, Cain, and Santorum should drop out so more attention can be focused on Jon Huntsman, as he's the best candidate the Republicans have.

Can you say brainless? It seems that each of the GOP candidates is trying to outdo the others to reach the bottom first.

Perry shows us what a great educational system Texas has. Do you remember George Bush, he came from that same system. Just stupid politicians.

as opposed to the fool that said " I've been to 57 states and I think we have 1 or 2 to go". A real brain trust we've got for a president now.

He is better at running the express line at Huntsville's death row than he is his campaign. But then again, how many hours did cnn devote to BO's inability to grasp basic 2nd grade U.S. geography.
