Obama challenges Republicans on payroll tax cut

(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Wednesday challenged Republicans to "fight as hard for middle-class families as you do for those who are more fortunate," telling a Pennsylvania crowd to push Congress to extend the payroll tax cut enacted a year ago.

Obama met with a family in Scranton, the birthplace of Vice President Joe Biden, then spoke at a nearby high school in what will be a battleground state in next year's presidential election.

Why do the republicans always help 260,000 wealthy individuals, but turn their backs on 160 million people? I forgot, its all about greed.

Republicans care NOTHING for the middle class. Nothing. They have only one goal and one purpose in their lazy unproductive lives and that is to make you a one term president. Nothing else has ever mattered short of that. I too have a goal and that is to vote AGAINST ANY republican running in 2012 as I am part of the 99% they hate so much.

Thank you for continuing to fight for the middle class and less fortunate.

Congressional Republican screamed and yelled "No increase in revenue". They screamed and yelled "Cut spending" but now they want to increase taxes (End payroll) and keep spending (military). It appears that they are continuing to pursue the obstructionist agenda started by Sen. McConnell, thinking it will help them politically.

I cant wait for November 2012 when this man is voted and we dont have to see his face anymore. He is such a hyprocrite and a fake and I just dont understand the infatuation with him. Everytime I see Obama's face on TV I switch the channel because I am tired of seeing his face and hearing him tell his lies. Time for him to be voted out in 2012 so we do not have to see or hear from him anymore. Good riddance!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe if Obama had not been so conciliatory in the beginning, and sound off on the Republicans like he's doing now, the 2010 elections would have been completely different. He is shining a bright light into the Pubs hypocrisy and governing lunacy, hence giving the American people an actual glance at the alternative.
Legislativley the Most Productive President in Modern History.

There is only one person running for President who has the intelligence, he ideas, the heart and soul to be a good President and it is the guy who already has the job.

A President should be right, smart, and compassionate. The GOP/t-party hopefuls are a combination of wrong, mean and stupid. Some are all three and the rest are at least two

Thats rich coming from the class warfare President. No Republicans are against cutting or extending tax relief. He is a great campaigner but lousy at governing or any worthy accomplishments. Get back to us if Obama ever says anthing truthful.

"Congressional Republican screamed and yelled "No increase in revenue". They screamed and yelled "Cut spending" but now they want to increase taxes (End payroll) and keep spending (military)."

The operative question is always "FOR WHOM?" Add that to the end when the GOPers/Teatrolls scream about "no increased revenue," "no tax increases" and "cut spending" and then answer it based on which policies they support. The record is pretty freekin clear despite the MSM doing everything it can to blow smoke in everyone's face with false equivalencies and fabricated controversies.

  20. The Greedy Old PIgs have declared class war on US!

The mask is coming of the GOBP neocon deathcult as more and more people wake up to to reality. America cannot survive being run by a deathcult, which by definition leads to debasement (poverty) and death (wars).
