Women for Cain' launched by campaign

(CNN) – While Herman Cain has yet to decide if he will continue his presidential campaign following an allegation he engaged in a 13-year extramarital affair, his campaign is pressing on with efforts to promote his candidacy.

Team Cain officially launched a "Women for Cain" website Friday billed as an "online national fellowship of women dedicated to helping elect Herman Cain as the next President of the United States."

The site says the former pizza executive is a strong advocate for women and is complete with testimonials from over 30 women. It also names Cain's wife of 43 years, Gloria, as the national chairperson.

Most of the comments encourage Cain to remain in the race, with some criticizing the women who have lobbed accusations at the former radio talk show host. Other messages ask him to ignore the media.

"I hope you pursue a slander, libel, defamation of character suit against this moneygrubbing, lying woman. Granted, she has no $, but it would send a strong message," a comment reads on the homepage.

One post calls the women "money hungry" that "make me sick to my stomach."

Another says "PLEASE DO NOT PULL OUT OF THE RACE," adding that she is "encouraging everyone to ignore the media, GOP establishment, (elitists, statists) and the Obama administration to do the right thing for our country … Remember Clarence Thomas and hang in there."

Dr. Alveda King, a Cain supporter and lead voice behind the drive, said the site is the culmination of months of work intended to connect "people of like hearts and minds that are praying for Mr. and Mrs. Cain."

"I would be very blessed if Mr. Cain decides to stay in the race," King, the niece of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. and daughter of the late civil rights activist Re. A.D. William King, Sr., told CNN.

Cain has spent recent weeks rebuffing accusations of sexual harassment and most recently claims of an affair from Ginger White, an Atlanta businesswoman.

He is currently "reassessing" his 2012 plans and in an email to supporters Friday asked them to show their support for his candidacy.

"As I assess the future of my campaign, I need to gauge the support of the people of this great nation," Cain wrote. "In today's political environment, the only way we can gauge true support is by the willingness of our supporters to invest in this effort."

"You can fool most of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time"...

    Poor Gloria...

I supported Bill Clinton all the way through his presidency and I never waivered. It would be hypicritical of me to attack Mr. Cain for the same kind of affair. It is his personal life. Personal, leave it alone people. Now as for unwanted advances I think ther emay be a case but he is innocent until proven guilty in those. But he is also so wrong and so out of touch that he would never get my vote for anything.

Is this finally a web site to give a voice to all of the women that Cain has harassed, assaulted or slept with? Who else would encourage him not to pull out?

When an adulterous minister marries people... are those marriages holy? Or is that unholy matrimony?

    Just wondering...

This guy wouldn't qualify for a job at McDonalds up here with a history like this, and yet he's still within sniffing distance of the presidency, The guy is lying, people can sense that (well, most normal people can sense that). Get this joker off the stage and let's move on to real politicking.

Newt already has the fathead. The teabaggers will turn on a dime on him when his lobby money programs surface. Fannie and Freddie are the tip of the iceberg. The wingnut/teabagger trainwreck implosion continues full speed ahead.

I can't believe the nerve of this guy; either he is truly delusional or utterly cynical – I think more former than latter.

The Cain cult followers ignore the facts of this story and their own common sense. They continue to attack and demonize the women victims. His wife seems like a nice lady (but wives are always the last to know) and a few weeks ago said he was a good husband, but it was before his latest "lady friend" came forward. She also said he would have to be deranged, a split personality to do those things – OK I can’t argue with that assessment, his wife should know!

These women must be the kind that have to be told how to vote by their husbands.....you know the kind, they can't think for themselves, have no self esteem and everything hubby says is the gospel, even when they are boinking other women. We sure have come a long ways, now haven't we girls?

@Bob in PA. What? he was never accused of rape, what on earth have you been drinking. He had an affair, he was impeached not for that but for lying to congress. Sheesh you really do create your own alternate realities to fit with your beliefs.

I think "Women for Herman Cain" is really not the BEST name for this group if you think about it

Any political action committee can build a web site. Means nothing. So far, other than the little wifey, the only woman who actually agreed to be w/ creepy Huhman was the one he gave money to for 13 years. The others he harassed and molested. Bottom line: this sorry excuse for a human being has to pay women or molest them, but he sure doesn't respect any female. Must be terrible to be his daughter.

The site says the former pizza executive is a strong advocate for women and is complete with testimonials from over 30 women and then proceeded to kneel to PRAY.

I'm confused....are these 'women for Cain' ones that have slept with him...or want to sleep with him. The womens's movement just collectively sighed a big one. REALLY, ladies????

HAHAHAHAHAHA.... OMG, I can't stop laughing! Fifty bucks says every female image on that website was a paid model. Oh boy, Herman, it's time to toss in the towel – your desperation is too funny to "bare"!!

Yo' Cain, double check the list to see if Calista Gingrich is on the list. She is known to have loose morals, and she, like Palin, just might like to take a lick on your "black walnut cone"!

Personally, if I were Herman Cain, I wouldn't want a website called "Women For Cain". I mean, what do you think of with a name like that?

IF Cain had a dollaar for every woman who asked him "not to pull out" he'd have the resources to run 2 presidential campaigns!

    "Bob in Pa
Bill Clinton is accused of rape and all you fools here keep quiet."
Seeing as that was 15 years ago Im not sure you can talk about what anyone here said or did at that time.

"Bill Clinton does it with a young intern in the oval office and you fools reelect him and yell power to the pres."
Except of course that the news broke on this AFTER he had been re-elected.

Seriously, if you are going to spout off, at least get it right.
