Women for Cain' launched by campaign

(CNN) – While Herman Cain has yet to decide if he will continue his presidential campaign following an allegation he engaged in a 13-year extramarital affair, his campaign is pressing on with efforts to promote his candidacy.

Team Cain officially launched a "Women for Cain" website Friday billed as an "online national fellowship of women dedicated to helping elect Herman Cain as the next President of the United States."

The site says the former pizza executive is a strong advocate for women and is complete with testimonials from over 30 women. It also names Cain's wife of 43 years, Gloria, as the national chairperson.

Most of the comments encourage Cain to remain in the race, with some criticizing the women who have lobbed accusations at the former radio talk show host. Other messages ask him to ignore the media.

"I hope you pursue a slander, libel, defamation of character suit against this moneygrubbing, lying woman. Granted, she has no $, but it would send a strong message," a comment reads on the homepage.

One post calls the women "money hungry" that "make me sick to my stomach."

Another says "PLEASE DO NOT PULL OUT OF THE RACE," adding that she is "encouraging everyone to ignore the media, GOP establishment, (elitists, statists) and the Obama administration to do the right thing for our country … Remember Clarence Thomas and hang in there."

Dr. Alveda King, a Cain supporter and lead voice behind the drive, said the site is the culmination of months of work intended to connect "people of like hearts and minds that are praying for Mr. and Mrs. Cain."

"I would be very blessed if Mr. Cain decides to stay in the race," King, the niece of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. and daughter of the late civil rights activist Re. A.D. William King, Sr., told CNN.

Cain has spent recent weeks rebuffing accusations of sexual harassment and most recently claims of an affair from Ginger White, an Atlanta businesswoman.

He is currently "reassessing" his 2012 plans and in an email to supporters Friday asked them to show their support for his candidacy.

"As I assess the future of my campaign, I need to gauge the support of the people of this great nation," Cain wrote. "In today's political environment, the only way we can gauge true support is by the willingness of our supporters to invest in this effort."

Any women who support this man after all that has come out are idiots. There is way too much smoke for anyone to believe that there's no fire.

When asked to explain a 13 year friendship and giving money to a woman without telling his wife, the women for cain responded with putting their fingers in their ears and going 'la, la, la, we're not listening, la, la, la'

Testimonials from 30 women? Who friggin' cares what these losers have to say. Herman announces hej's gonna talk to his wife tonight... for the first time ever. Dump him, Sister! Cain is a pathological liar and a misogynist.

If your wife didn't now about your "friendship" with another woman, then it wasn't a friendship...it was an affair. Shame on you Mr. Cain for not having the honesty to tell the truth. Just another reason THIS WOMAN IS NOT FOR CAIN.

Cain is a ladies man. He's a lover, not a fighter. He's a leader, not a reader. 999. That's how many women he's made love to. He reminds me of the cafeteria cook on South Park.

Posted a comment and the liberal nazi's deleted it, so my vote goes for what Bob in PA said. All you liberal die hards need to do a reality check and move on. I have to wonder if Mr. Cain was a Democrat, if he would get so much attention...doubt it.

Every day a new jaw-dropper. If the Republican party leaders don't get their act together, and soon, too many people are going to start believing that GOP = Goofy. When that perception starts to spread, the damage will probably be irreparable.

These must be abused women who all want to stick by their man regardless of the black eyes and broken bones.

There will always be plenty of women with bad self-esteem who will get into and stay in a relationship with a married man and/or will put up with being treated badly because they by into the whole "men will be men" nonsense.

Just because a bunch of them are willing to put their names, faces and testimonials on a website, doesn't mean they're right – or that anyone should for Cain, who's shown himself to be arrogant, lying and not-that-bright.

"I have to wonder if Mr. Cain was a Democrat, if he would get so much attention...doubt it."

Ever hear of Anthony Weiner? He got plenty of media attention – AND he was asked by his party to resign, which he did.

    'Nuff said.

"If your wife didn't now about your "friendship" with another woman, then it wasn't a friendship...it was an affair."

And probably not the first one, either. Cain belongs to the holier-than-thou religious right school that believes "boys will be boys." How else do you explain their recent infatuation with Gingrich?

I feel truly sorry for Cain's wife, that either she's been duped all these years or has such low self-esteem that she would stay with this louse.

I cannot wait to hear how Cain's "meeting" with his wife goes. Wonder if we'll ever know the "true" story. I doubt it... I cannot imagine anyone voting for him with or without these allegations. He's not presidential material, just like the other Repub. candidates.

Women for Cain? That's way too broad (pun unintended). You got to focus on your target support group. How about "Swinging Mollies for Cain"?
