What does ‘suspending’ mean?
(CNN) –- With news Saturday that Herman Cain is suspending his bid for the 2012 GOP nomination, many are wondering what the move means for his future.
Federal law doesn’t have a specific definition for “suspending” a political campaign, meaning Cain is still legally considered a candidate.
Because he did not officially drop out of the race, Cain will still be allowed to raise and spend campaign funds as if he were still seeking the nomination.
If he had told supporters Saturday he was ending his bid for the White House, Cain would have been permitted only to raise funds to retire debts accrued on the campaign trail.
Cain will still be required to file financial disclosure reports with the Federal Election Commission at the end of each fund-raising quarter.

He's "suspending" his campaign because he still wants to collect the money to fund his campaign to retire to the Bahamas.
What does it mean? It means his campaign of dumbness will continue.
Suspending means he can keep on spending those campaign contributions.

Does that mean he's still bound by the "John Edwards rule" that none of the money can go to his girlfriend? And why would anyone give money to a zombie campaign?
God told him to suspend the campaign. 😉

To suspend means to "temporarily" halt an endeavor. It's little wonder the American peoole don't trust any politicians.

The most obvious reason Cain is weighig his options is to try and redeem his reputation. He apparently thinks that by
criticizing the media the stories about his activities outside of his marriage will fade away and he may have a chance to jump back in the race. So sorry Herman, we, the people, have long memories. Your speech today was sef-serving. You may fool your ego, but we ~ the people, aren't buy what you are selling...Namely, that you are a victim and the firestorm is false. Besides witnesses, there are the cell phones records. I'd suspsect that there are pictures and receipts also. Mr. Cain, be honest and admit the truth. So by suspending his campaign, he's effectively out of the running, but still able to raise money–and line his pockets.
What he means is, Please continue to give me your money. I have no intention of going back into the race, but I have really got some major bills to pay, and that's what I'll use your money for.
