(CNN) – With Herman Cain dropping out of the Republican race for the White House, what happens to his “9-9-9” tax plan? The short answer, of course, is that it’s gone.
What isn’t gone, though, is a desire for major tax reform in the United States.

YES-YES-YES!!! His economic plan was destructive and another giveaway to the wealthy. Thank God he is GONE-GONE-GONE!
Well, look on the bright side. With 9-9-9 gone you won't have to worry about anyone calling you "Blitz" any time soon.

Folks understand English. Cain said on Saturday he is suspending his campaign. He did not say he is quitting. These are two different things. The man does not endorse anyone now, the man is continuing paying his workers, the man is continuing with his schedule. What I come to learn is: Cain is trying to make people cool down first and he is also trying to avoid some debates at the same collecting contributions. Cain is not going anywhere!
If this country is going to have a tax system it has to be one in which EVERYBODY has some skin in the game. A small minority cannot be giving a vast majority a free ride. Democrats and liberals NEVER SAY what the maximum is they want, they just want to just keep taking more and more from fewer and fewer in order to buy votes by promising people they won't have to pay any taxes.
If they keep this up, there WILL come a time when many rich people take their money and go elsewhere. It happened in Europe and it will happen here as well. The rich can rather easily relocate to much more friendly environments that do not wish to steal everything they own. Who's going to support the 47% who pay no taxes then???
we were all punk'd by Cain!
He was every uber-rich man`s Uncle Tom. He now has time to work on his marriage.
I don't know. It could be another special tax cut to people like him and other.... like a special pizza topping...yum yum.
Democrats answer to everything, TAX THE RICH, TAX BUSINESS
Please look at what an S-Corporation is and how they file their taxes. It is what most small businesses file.
-----------–
I know exactly what an S-Corporation is. It is a clever tax loop hole that allows multi-billionares to file business taxes on their personal taxes. It is supposed to be for small businesses, but the definition of "small" refers to the number of owners, not the gross sales as Republicans would have us believe.
People always talk about how many corporations pay little or no taxes. What is not mentioned is that those are figures for publicaly traded companies. The figures for privately owned companies like Kock Industries is a private secret.
fellow republicans took down brotha Cain...not Democrats.
Suspended campaign or quit altogether, Cain is out. Mostly because if he doesn't sit down and shut up he will have an ex-wife who will take him for HALF of everything he owns. They live in Georgia and she has been with him for 43 years and with all the video she now has as proof no judge in the state would deny her what she asks for. He won't be back unless he is a complete idiot. Opps forgot who I was talking about for a minute.
"BLITZER’S BLOG: With Cain out, '9-9-9' is dead-dead-dead"
Newsflash to Bobblehead World: It was stillborn-stillborn-stillborn.
"The rich can rather easily relocate to much more friendly environments that do not wish to steal everything they own."
Indeed they can. Funny how they don't tho, eh?
"he is suspending his campaign. He did not say he is quitting. These are two different things."
Of course. Suspending means he can keep taking donations...quitting means he'd have to stop. 2 +2 ....
Sleaze seeks its own level.
The Democrats plan is 100-100-100. Take 100% of what "rich" people have, tax at 100% business profits and find you STILL don't have enough enough to fund the government. Then borrow 100% of the remainder to "balance the budget". Otherwise known as 100% insanity.

Let them go. Can you please enlighten as to exactly when and *where* all of these Europeans moved? If you make 60% of the income, don't you think that you should pay 60% of the taxes instead of 40%?
Many in that 47% group do *pay taxes*. Do you know who makes up most of the 47% of the people who pay no *federal income* taxes? The poorest of the poor. The elderly living on *tax free* retirements. Taxing them would be taxing your own money when you make a bank withdrawal. The retirements are *tax-free* because the federal ilncome taxes have already been paid on them.
Did you know that it was Republicans who originally introduced the progressive tax system we have in use today that allows for that 47% to rightfully pay no *federal* taxes? Did you know that it was introduced shortly after WW2?

I've heard this 47% thing over and over and over. Name me one, just ONE PERSON who doesn't pay any taxes. If a person buys ANYTHING in this country, they are paying taxes. That's point number 1.
Point number 2 about the "wealthy" people moving... let em. They won't becasue they aren't finished robbing the rest of us here and they like the roads, the airports, the shipping rails... all paid for by taxes... taxes they spend time and money getting around. Spending $1000 dollars to save $100. If they (the wealthy) all loved no government, then Somalia would be a haven for the rich and last I looked it isn't. The US gives them structure and stability and they know they can buy the laws, lawyers, politicians, the courts as well as the police to give them an advantage, so why would they leave? They won't.
The solutions are simple even though the problems sound complex.
Tax everyone the same on ALL income and it is income if you have it today and didn't have it yesterday. Capitol gains, inherietance, whatever... if you have a dollar more today than yesterday, that dollar gets taxed. No state sales tax, no gasoline tax, no "hidden" taxes... just a tax on profit and all at the same percentage rate. If 10% is good enough for the Church, then 10% should be good enough for Government. That's 10% of ALL INCOME, ALL PROFIT, ALL $$ you didn't have yesterday but do today reguardless of the source. Of course, no Politician will ever vote for that but we can dream.
This gives Cain extra time to go dilly with his willy! He is not going anywhere. Gloria is letting him make it up to her! He'll make a surprising comeback.
"If this country is going to have a tax system it has to be one in which EVERYBODY has some skin in the game. "
More nonsense talking points manure from another GOBP deathcult screechmonkey, Everyone BUT the 1%ers have "skin in the game." Ever heard of sales taxes or gas taxes? It's the 1% who don't have any "skin in the game" of helping America succeed. They're just as happy making piles of cash in China or elsewhere. It's the 1%ers corrupting the government to obtain more corporate welfare that is damaging America, not some poor retiree or poor parent who doesn't pay federal income taxes.
Wolf, Cains 999 plan was joke to begin with and never was alive...Now like Cain its cold Pizza!
Let's hope so. I was opposed to that plan, from the beginning.
And this article is Stale On Arrival. 999 was dead months ago, Wolf. Where've you been, under a tea party rock?
