Pelosi ready to tell all on Gingrich

(CNN) – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office said Monday that any potentially-damaging information she had on Newt Gingrich was all open to the public, defending earlier comments that she had "a thousand pages" of investigative material on Gingrich during his time as House speaker.

"Leader Pelosi was clearly referring to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware," said Nadeam Elshami, a Pelosi spokesman, in a statement.

Earlier Monday, Pelosi suggested in an interview she would talk in detail at some point about the House ethics committee's investigation of Gingrich in the late 1990s.

In the interview with the left-leaning news website Talking Points Memo, Pelosi was pressed to talk about her thoughts on the Republican presidential candidate's recent rise in the polls. While the House Democratic Leader demurred, she signaled she'd have more to say later.

"One of these days we'll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich," Pelosi told TPM. "I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff."

According to the TPM story, Pelosi "joked" the information would come out "when the time's right."

After hearing about the interview, Gingrich told reporters in New York that he considered Pelosi's comments "an early Christmas gift" and said any information the Democratic Leader might release on the ethics probe would itself be a violation of House ethics rules.

"That is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House and I would hope members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it," Gingrich said. If Pelosi did talk publicly about any private deliberations of the inquiry, Gingrich urged members of the House to file a complaint against her.

At his press conference on Monday, former Speaker Gingrich also noted that 83 charges the House committee investigated were found to be false.

But in 1997 Gingrich became the only speaker to be reprimanded by the House, for giving false information about using tax deductible funds for political purposes to the ethics committee. He was also ordered to pay $300,000 to cover the cost of the panel's inquiry.

If really Newt did some mistakes then Pelosi has to tell it the people needs to know the TRUTH, and nothing but the truth.

Gingrich is a pathological liar. And to boot, anyone that doesn't agree with him or calls him out on his lies is called every bad name in the book. Watch him closely in past and future interviews and debates. He doesn't wiggle his way out of past statements, rather he comfortably lies his way around them and talks badly about his opponent with no limits on what he'll say. I've never seen a more convincing liar. People claim he's the smartest guy around. His level of intelligence might be high, but he uses it to con his way through life. I would bet my life that his wife doesn't trust one ounce of him. Con men are usually very smart individuals that tell stories that go round and round and never have a true ending to them. An HONEST day's work he's probably not done in 30+yrs.

Mrs Pelosi is one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington. If she didn't live in the most screwed up place in America she would not have a chance to be elected to congress. Term limits for ALL politicians.

Newt is a dishonest self serving, bigot who just so happens to be one of the most corrupt politicians ever to grace the Washington stage and any serious consideration of him as president will forever kill any desire I ever had to vote Republican. I broke with my time honored Republican roots at the last election and voted for Obama due to the Bush years and not being able to take it any longer, but this would be the final nail in the Republican coffin for me. I would rather vote for Obama again than put Newt in office. He is a self centered rich jerk who doesn't care about the middle class or the poor and is only looking out for his rich counterparts in this country.

Gee, Newt's reaction seems to be one of massive retaliation, what with all the threats; maybe Pelosi DOES have something on him! It's a clear case of the pot-calling-the-kettle-black of course - but only one of them is running for president. If you got it Nancy, bring it! Time for the The Newtster to slink away and let the next "un-Romney" tea-bag candidate have his-or-her day in the sun.

If the rules prevent us from knowing the truth, then the rules need to be changed. WE PAY THEIR SALARY.

And for those of you saying "what about HER?".

SHE ISN'T TRYING TO BECOME PRESIDENT. It's up to her constituents who gets in Congress, so drop it.

I believe Israel will start something with Iran and I see Newt blindly following so that we are at war with another country. I see President Obama building a coalition (if that happens), so that WE are not carrying the entire load financially and with blood.

Vote against the bes interest of this country if you want, but you'll hear about it in the form of a war on our own soil - by US.

"four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year"...Thanks for that wonderful gift, Nancy! Not seeing your face for an entire year was such a blessing. Any chance you'll do that again this year?

She's waiting until he wins the primary, then she will try to destroy his chances of beating Obama.

Wish she would release it now, to help Ron Paul win the bid. But that wouldn't be a good strategy for the Democrats, would it. Hoping for Newt to win because then they can destroy him.

If that lying / cheating stealing Gingrich gets the nomination – believe me, I & and a LOT of other Democrats will end up Voting for Obama Again. even though we don't really want to. At least Romney is a little bit towards the middle, I mean Obama has not done the greatest Job, but he would be a heck of a lot better than Gingrich. Even a lot of the Republicans don't like Gringrich !!

Can you imagine all the dirt these crooks have on each other? If she decides to tell all on Newt, it may open the floodgates and people will finally realize, if they hadn't already, the types of cheats and egomaniacs we have elected to Washington.

Nancy Pelosi is playing a very dangerous game, if she were to release any information on Newt Gingrich it would be her Waterloo. Nancy Pelosi would be opening her self to a huge law suit. Newt Gingrich is very smart and very conning. This would show that Obama has members of Congress working to smear Newt Gingrich for when he was Speaker of the House Obama knows that he can't beat Newt Gingrich in a "debate" he knows he'll get crushed. Nancy Pelosi wants to be Speaker again, she will do anything and say anything to be Speaker. The more Nancy Pelosi opens her mouth the more she is making herself look bad. I'll bet when this is all over Newt is going to say "Is this all you got". I believe that Newt Gingrich has been waiting for Nancy Pelosi to come out with some kind of damaging information and I'll bet he'll be ready for it.

Pelosi is a joke, pure and simple. She embodies hatred and divisiveness, and for HER to be casting at someone else for ethical issues is beyond the pale. If ANYONE should keep their mouth shut about ethical conduct (or lack thereof) it's Pelosi. She is a fundamental liability to the Democratic party.

Are American Republicans suffering from amnesia? Newt resigned as Majority Leader in the House of Representatives and as a Rep. from the State of Georgia.... Newt resigned to avoid criminal prosecution of fraud and conspiracy to cover up fraud....he was censored by the House.

Newt is a can anyone think this guy belongs in the White House? If he belongs anyplace, it's in Gitmo sitting in a cell and awaiting trial.
