Truth Squad: Bachmann aims high with health care claim

Editor's note: Part of the CNN Republican debate fact-checking series.

(CNN) - The statement: "We can cut government bureaucracy, which is Obamacare. The NFIB tells us - that's the small business agency - that we will lose 1.6 million jobs over five years if we keep Obamacare." - Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, at Saturday's Republican presidential debate in Iowa.

The facts: The National Federation of Independent Business, the small-business lobby, did estimate in January 2009 that a national mandate for employers to provide health insurance would cost 1.6 million jobs over five years. But the study was done months before the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the health care legislation that critics call "Obamacare," took shape in Congress.

'Obamacare' has save seniors on medicare over $460 million by closing the loop hole in only the first 5 months. In a recent survey, 50% of respondents said they would like to see law kept or altered to make it better. Only 39% said they wanted it repealed. While Michele's right wingnut base may like her waging war with 50 million who have no insurance, and love her being out of touch with reality, most Americans want to keep the Affordable Health Care Law.

Isn't it just like a republican to destroy the hopes of the 50 million without health insurance? Why do you wingnuts want insurance companies to kick a person out if they get sick, or not insure them if they have a pre-existing condition. What is wrong with keeping young people on an insurance policy for a few more years?

Why aren't the right to lifers concerned with the deaths of 45,000 people annually who have no access to health care?

You know what.......this "truth" is simply doublespeak.

ObamaCare will not only cost many jobs, and in fact already will also take money out of household budgets to pay for the huge increase in health care costs, simply to fund all of the ridiculous things included in the bill. ObamaCare is an abomination.

It reduces disposable incomes, significantly, for everyone.
