Bachmann labels Gingrich 'memory challenged'

(CNN) – Michele Bachmann accused fellow GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich of talking down to her at the debate Thursday night, saying the former House speaker is "memory challenged."

"Well, frankly, I thought that it was outrageous and insulting, the way that he seemed to treat me like I was a student and I'm not. I'm a serious candidate for president of the United States and I had my facts right and he has said this repeatedly and he's just not true," Bachmann said on CNN's "The Situation Room" Friday. "He's memory challenged."

The Minnesota congresswoman said she does not know if his comments stemmed from her gender, but said they were "condescending" and not befitting a fellow candidate.

During an interaction over their stances on abortion during Thursday's debate, Gingrich told Bachmann she sometimes "doesn't get her facts very accurate," a sentiment over which Bachmann disagreed.

She also told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that she was "disappointed" South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley formally backed rival Mitt Romney Friday, before adding that she greatly respects the first-term governor. Bachmann met with Haley at her home in South Carolina ahead of the endorsement.

But even without her support, Bachmann said she is confident she will prove victorious in the Palmetto State, which hosts the first-in-the-South primary contest.

"We think with the cannon shot we're going to get out of Iowa that we'll do very well in South Carolina," Bachmann said.

If she were president and a U.S. drone crashed in Iran, as one did last week, Bachmann said she would "seek to obtain that drone." However, she would not provide further details because "it's not prudent to say as a president what I would do ahead of time."

"I wouldn't be ever communicating to the enemy what my intents will be and what level of force I would use, only to send the signal: Don't try it," Bachmann said. "If I'm president of the United States, don't even bother trying."

    I'm surprised that Romney can talk civilly with her. I just have to look at here super-made up eyes and face for me to snicker. Central casting could not do a good a job as has GOP natural selection: A psuedo-rugged artificially handsome Texan; a skinny, cry-baby face who keeps saying, "look at me...I DID it." An old guy who looks like his face is falling off who talks in a "why can't I get you all to see the truth" way; a beacon-eyed, cosmetic women with a hot trigger finger;
a basically stern face man who keeps trying to smile at the garbage he's hearing; a squint-eyed piggy-faced carnival barker with all kinds of duplicity behind him trying to lead the "party of family values." They are perfect clowns.

This country is a few hippies away from making its best decision in a lifetime. They were right. Peace, love, and prosperity are inspiring. To think of these things as unreasonable possibilities is mindless slave crap. Revolutions and times of enlightenment are what make these fairytale things possible.

Anyone who dangerously spouts misinformation like saying a life-saving vaccine actually causes mental retardation, deserves to be condescended to.

So madam Bachman Iran has your drone you are president . You and your spies dont know where it is, the options are limited if they wont return even if you say dont try to refuse me!! And Oh you wont say what you going to do thats unpresidential, its not only unpresidential you have no idea because you dont have sufficient info or data to make any kind of " action decision". Face it we lost a drone spying on another sovreign state thier answer to you would be don't try to force us to return it . I appeal to your christian basic philosophy ... two wrongs do not make a right!! Your threat is frankly only laughable.

Bless her heart, she had something bad said about her. All those macho Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for telling her she was not all together. She has all ways been so sweet and tender hearted to everybody and would not dare say something bad about anybody.

What is your problem Bachmann? If you are tired of the lizard (Newt) being "memory challenged" just pray it away, or is that not working for you?

MY god she can't even speak in correct sentences. Who are all this horrible, lying idiots? Romney is a power-hungry sleaze who will tell any kind of lie to get a vote, Gingrich is a hateful, money-grubbing ignoramus, Mr. Pizza what's his name, is a womanizing fool who does not even know where Libya is. And then you have Trump, the man who would be emperor, and Ron Paul who thinks America should be like Somalia – cause like, who needs a government? And on that subject if these maniacs hate 'government' so much, why do they want to be IN it? To all those who say we don't need 'big government' (what a stupid catch-phrase,) I say, really? You would rather have Exxon and Goldman Sachs run the world? You don't even get a lousy vote with them. WAKE UP America. We need a president with a BRAIN. Not some stupid, ignorant, lying psycho, which describes each one of these nut jobs.

I agree; he is. For example, Gingrich said, "And I'll come back and say it again, a free society should make very big decisions with the support of the people."

Then why has he also pledged (check it out on his website) that if elected POTUS, he would sign as many as 200 executive orders on his first day as president, accomplishing everything from abolishing a circuit court (the Ninth, which he considers "activist" because he doesn't like its rulings) to further tightening restrictions on federal funding for abortions.

This is not a man who believes in democracy; this is a dictator and doesn't belong anywhere near the White House.

"I wouldn't be ever communicating to the enemy what my intents will be and what level of force I would use, only to send the signal: Don't try it," IS NOT A PROPERLY CONSTRUCTED SENTENCE....Case Closed...Bye bye Bachmann!

Newt Gingrich is a PROGRESSIVE. He loves T. Roosevelt, F.D.R. Read the writing on the wall folks. His "big solutions" are countless numbers of government solutions and programs. A vote for Gingrich is a vote for Obama and vice versa. Doesn't matter who wins. Gingrich would be a dangerous nominee for the party and the country.

This is pretty simple – she launched an attack and it backfired. She spit into the wind, and didn't like the results. While she may have been technically correct with the facts she cherry picked to mention, she spun them into a totally incorrect conclusion and conveniently left out key details that would have made Newt's position make perfect sense.

Lets stop pretending..Bachman is a train wreck on rails and Newt is a complete farce on every level. It really is a pathetic bunch on the Republican dias and the level of intelligence is reaching new lows with every utterance and debate. They all want to be 'dictator' and it shows...

What don't these candidates understand about Iran and the drone? You cannot get it back from Iran or any other country for that matter, especially if it was there for spying on the country.

The hollowness of these candidates could be easily exposed if someone asked them a question, "Would you think you can get the drone back from say China, or Russia?".

And when that question gets asked, they just won't be exposed as hollow charlatans, but it would also embarras our country. The only reason why we got the P8 Orion back was that it crash landed due to crew emergency. And don't forget, we did not get the plane back intact, but in pieces only after the Chinese had done inspecting it and also scoring a point over us by giving it to us in pieces.

This reckless rhetoric is a symptom of a sickness and arrogance in these candidates.
