Perry: Drill, baby, drill ... in Iowa?

Storm Lake, Iowa (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry suggested Friday that Iowa may be ripe for natural gas drilling.

Speaking to packed coffee house in Storm Lake during his statewide bus tour, the Texas governor accused President Barack Obama of blocking domestic energy exploration.

"I say, Mr. President, free us in this country to create jobs, free us to allow us to be more dependent on domestic crude, crude that comes from the domestic hemisphere," he said. "Open up our federal lands and waters so that we can have access."

Perry pointed to the Marcellus Shale formation that extends from New York down through Appalachia, saying that scientists only recently discovered large amounts of natural gas under the ground there.

"I mean, we don't know what's underneath Iowa," he said. "There is new technologies coming along. You may be sitting on one of the big gas formations."

"Ten years ago, they didn't know that the Marcellus Shale was there," he said. "They didn't know that we have this massive amount of energy that we are sitting on."

Perry is a complete fool and a liar on top of that. Obama has proposed scientific and engineering research to develop safe methods to do fracking. This technique could destroy Iowa's farming industry and people's water supply if not done safely. Obama is right, Perry is wrong and dumb.

Drill now because soon enough oil coal and other fossil fuel technology will be obsolete and all the cola and all the oil in the ground will have no value And sure I can burn it now, but soon the earth will resemble a suana / steam bath and just like it took a few hundred years to put the Co2 into the air, it will take at least that long to take it out. Canda PEI will be the new Miami Beach. Miami beach will be the new Sahara.

They need to drill in Perry's head to see if they can discover grey matter. I think there has been too much fracking going on in his skull.

You just gotta love Perry by now. He is providing comic relief in an otherwise boring and contentious debate.

The only thing that needs drilling is a 10 inch hole in Perry's head to see if there's anything in it. Oil companies like Chevron and others go on TV and tout their technological advances but they haven/t invested one penny in preventing oil leaks or how to cap an oil well. Instead, they send several dozen teams of HAZMAT teams with brooms, mops, and ineffective oil booms and essentially try and soak up billions of gallons crude oil on our devasted shores and coastlines.

Perry is a hack and a proud earner of a 2,1 GPA in college.

    What a buffoon and moron.

Yes, let's destroy more American land and water so the Koch brothers who buy Perry can make even more obscene profits. After all this nation was created for corporations, right?

Actually the history of your ideologies violence is to put your opposition into ovens or to hang them from trees, you might want to check with to see if you can engage in an alternative method of silencing your opposition.

Former president Bush (Jr.) was nothing but a person from the big oil and gas executive club and one of his primary interests in the Iraq war was his personal commitments to the oil industry that made domestic oil and gas exploration profitable for the US oil and gas companies by disturbing the Middle East oil supply chain after the Iraq war. In March of 2003, before the Iraq war began, world wide crude oil price was hovering in the range of $18.00 to $22.00 per barrel and the gasoline price at pump from NJ to MA was varying from $1.25 to $1.50 per gallon. If Rick P. occupies the White House in 2013, people in the US can easily imagine how the big oil and gas industries will benefit from his patronage just like his former boss Mr. Bush did during his tenure in the White House. Similarly, if Mitt Romney becomes the CEO of the White House in 2013, his Wall Street buddies will only be benefitted at the cost of the entire nation, that includes all the middle class people with money in the 401(K) and Social Security accounts. Middle class interests will be much safer in the hands of Mr. Obama as long as he remains in the office and none of the current red party candidates for the White House in 2012 has been able to prove their true commitments for the middle class in many matter whatsoever.

Natural gas prices are dropping, because we already have an abundant supply of it. The only thing that more drilling for gas will do is allow the gas companies to export it to increase their profits. There will be a short term increase in jobs as the wells are drilled, then an eternity of environmental damage due to contamination of the water supply.

"Ten years ago, they didn't know that the Marcellus Shale was there," he said. "They didn't know that we have this massive amount of energy that we are sitting on." - Rick Perry, retard.

Rick, don't you believe in the theory of geology, either? Outside of Texas, we've always known about the Marcellus Layer, and that there was gas trapped in the shale. This may all seem like magic to you, but it's everyday life for the rest of us.

When will the fence around the northern border of Texas be built? We'll pay for it. Yep, 49 states is quite enough.
