Payroll tax: Congress on vexing path

New York (CNNMoney)- What a mess.

Once again, Congress is going down to the wire on a "must-pass" bill that lawmakers have been debating for months. The centerpiece of this one - the soon-to-expire payroll tax cut - affects more than 160 million people.

Congress has no choice. What is left for them is to swallow the bitter pill. If they will go against the bill, they should know they are strangling themselves first before the middle class finish them all.

Republicans seem to think that they can bamboozle The People into believing that confusion and controversy in the Congress is the fault of President Obama. Nothing was perfect but at least everything was much better before the Tea Party showed up at the party. It's like a gang of individuals showed up at a party, suddenly never before seen firecrackers start exploding here and there, and the members of the newly arrived gang start blaming the people already there, the hosts despite the fact that the firecrackers only blow up next to where they are standing.

What you see in the House is what happens when you elect people who stick to an ideology even when it it hurts the country as a whole and the American people. They have this idea that if they just follow their ideology everything is going to be hunky-dorey, but life isn't like that. If the right wants to keep electing these buffoons who don't believe in compromise this country is going to deserve exactly what it gets. And guess what all you right wing tea partiers, you are going to be on the losing end just like the rest of us and some of you will be worse off than a lot of us. You reap what you sow.

This is nothing but Democratic propaganda. CNN should be embarrassed to even run this story.

The truth is, the tax cut only amounts to less than $20. per week, for those who still have a job. It funds SS and Medicare for retirees.

The Republicans are entirely correct.......this is grandstanding by Obama, to create class warfare, which is NOT genuine, but rather about Obama's re-election effort.

This author is propagandist for Obama......nothing more.
