Obama signs payroll tax cut extension

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama signed a two-month extension of the payroll tax cut Friday, ending what had been a heated political stalemate and sealing a hard-fought win for Democrats on an issue - taxes - that has historically favored the GOP.

Earlier in the day, the measure cleared the Democratic-controlled Senate and the Republican-controlled House of Representatives by unanimous consent, a procedural move allowing the measure to pass even though most members of Congress were already home home for the holidays.

What does a two month extension really give us but another thing to argue about in two months. I can't understand why the left feel like this a a huge victory. Unless they like to constantly vote for the same things every other month. Get real people.

Many people who were not motivated to throw the Republicans out of the Congress are now waiting anxiously for November. They only care about the wealthiest – got it. Now we're seeing the Nation turn to the truth – that President Obama has remained the only adult in the room and the GOP cares nothing for the middle class working families.

Now that reality had to be shoved into the face and down the throats of willfully ignorant, maybe we will see more compromise in Congress next year that works for The People. I would like to thank the House Tea Party caucus: for bringing the spotlight on the hypocrisy of conservative tax ideology, for beginning a dialogue on need to fully fund tax cuts before they are implemented, and for finally setting the stage for the end of those horrific Bush Tax Cuts that have contributed so much to our national debt and economic strife.
