(CNN) – Mitt Romney continues to hold a solid lead among likely Republican voters in New Hampshire in the run-up to the January 10 primary, according to a recent survey.
A Boston Globe poll released Sunday showed Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, on top with 39% support followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas tied with 17% and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman with 11%. The remaining candidates each garnered 3% support or less.
(CNN) – If the weather is good on January 3, Mitt Romney will win the Iowa caucuses; if the weather is bad, a weaker turnout will result in a victorious Ron Paul, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee predicted Sunday.
Huckabee, who won the Iowa caucuses in 2008, said the devotion disparity between supporters of the two contenders could greatly impact the outcome in the early voting state.
(CNN) – Republican Sen. Dick Lugar said Sunday Republicans should support his candidacy if they want to hold onto his Indiana Senate seat in 2012.
The six-term senator, who may face a difficult reelection due to a challenge from the right, used recent Republican Senate losses in Nevada and Colorado to expose the flaws in tea party-backed candidates.
