Wise-guy Christie: I'll 'be back Jersey-style'

West Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stood outdoors without an overcoat on a blustery Iowa morning and played the wise-guy to GOP candidate Mitt Romney.

"Let me tell ya," he told an audience of roughly 600 people standing outside a Hy-Vee grocery in West Des Moines. "You people disappoint me on Tuesday, you don't do what you are supposed to on Tuesday for Mitt Romney - I will be back Jersey-style, people. I will be back."

If Romney can hold onto gains he has made in Iowa, Christie may be spared the effort.

The GOP candidate tops the field in a CNN/TIME/ORC International poll released this week. Romney's campaign is doubling down in a state he has visited less frequently than most of his rivals, and has tripled the size of the advance team setting up events in the state, according to an aide.

And starting Saturday, Romney will embark on a 700-plus mile bus trip across the state, which will end with a caucus-night event in Des Moines.

If the GOP had more people like Chris Christie, and FEWER people like Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Rep Wilson, Senator DeMint, Dan Quayle, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachman (among the long assortment of "clowns"), then I'd be much more prone to vote Republican (which I sometimes do).

    Chris Christie is awesome!!!

I live in Jersey and Christie has no idea what 'Jersey-style' is. But he will once re-election time rolls around. As a side bar... his comment sounds almost as threatening as that of a terrorist.

Chris Christie needs to concentrate more on controlling his addition to food and less on who Iowa "elects". This guy is a heartbeat away from physical disaster.

Shut up Fatso. You've managed to insult Italian Americans, New Jerseyans, and people on the right half of the Bell curve all in one short soundbite. How does anyone think this moron is Presidential material?

Don't dissapoint the hog in a suit or he will come back and eat all the food in your house. Christie wants Willard to be the nominee since he's been promised the VP slot.

Christie's remark lacked the class, respect, and dignity that should be shown to the office of POTUS.

Well, Christie does play the bully well, I will give him that. Is this what we have to look for from the Republicans in 2016 if they lose in 2012? Pathetic.

Notice that Christie spends alot of time away from his state... might explain his low approval ratings at home. Guess it's time for him to run for vp.

This BIG, FAT, BLOATED pig needs to shut up and go exercise his body instead of his mouth. Most of us aren't and will not be intimidated by his enormous size and enormous presence. He might as well get used to the FACT Willard is not going anywhere near the White House unless its as a guest at President Obama's SECOND inaugural.

    Obama 2012.

Is it just me or does it look like Christie is going to eat the microphone? Christie is the perfect symboll of the GOP. Greedy, he obviously hordes his food & he is on the fast track to being morbidly obese. He is a perfect picture of healthy America.
