No holiday break for candidates as Iowa caucuses near

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - It may be New Year's Eve weekend, but with the Iowa caucuses closing in, there will be no holiday for all but one of the Republican presidential candidates.

Rep. Ron Paul is heading home to Texas to spend the holiday with his wife. But his campaign said the congressman will be back on the trail Monday morning.

Election is 11 months away, and I am always tired of news media spending every moment on this. Iowa should not count; Iowa results are only the results of voters who can get to Iowa at a specified time on a specified day and pay a price. What percentage of the U.S. is that? Not much. As for Gingrich, nothing but a staged event by Frank Lutz, transparent, and Newt, don't brag about your mother being an Army wife; they spend most of their time spending their husband's pay and looking down at the wives of lower officers. And as for the general election, when people finally get it, when Romney's tax returns are released, that he is in the top 1% of the 1%, that he is worth 440 million $ and pays no taxes, Obama will win in a landslide.

One more 10 year war with Iran will not help our economy. War with Iran will slow the supply of oil. Prices will soar even by our own oil company's as they did during Katrina. Which will raise the prices in food. Are Americans actually asking the small percentage of service members to continue this fight? How much more must we give? It's so easy to chant war. But do you know the effects of prolonged war on your war fighters? I suffer greatly from PTSD. After 5 combat deployments and 8 years in the Corps, if we go to war with Iran... I will re-enlist. Not for you, but for my brothers. We are supposed to fight these wars for the safety, liberties, and the freedoms for our Citizens. And yet we allow our Government to continually take them away with the NDAA, as well as the Patriot Act. What's the unemployment numbers in America? Not percentage points but how many millions? It's disgusting. Happy New Year America. Semper Fi. -Chris Santrizos

ONE will come out on top and later think they “have no fear”
Some may drop out but the defiant ones won't care
Others will finally catch on and say "I'm outta here!!!"

For now I'll just say – Happy New Year!!! 🙂

One day soon, our reckless economic and military ignorance will be called an act of war. Who will come save us from ourselves? Will they say they are defending their strategic interests? What if they say they are protecting the freedoms of humanity and democracy?

What if sound money and jobs are only possible when we aren't sending $5 billion out of this country every day?

What if Christianity teaches peace and not preventative wars and aggression?

    What if we save ourselves?
