(CNN) - Sen. John McCain of Arizona will throw his support behind Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Wednesday, a senior Republican source close to the senator said.
The 2008 Republican presidential nominee will travel to New Hampshire to make the endorsement.

McCain won the New Hampshire primary during his presidential bid, beating Romney, who quickly endorsed McCain after he dropped out of the race in early February following key losses on Super Tuesday.
News of the endorsement was first reported by BuzzFeed Politics.

This is just the guy who lost to Obama last time endorsing the guy who will lose to Obama this time.
If the Republicans are serious about defeating Barack Obama, then they need to coalesce around one of their conservative candidates. Romney has no chance of beating Obama, because should Romney get the nomination, Donald Trump will run as a third-party candidate. So will Ron Paul. Either one of them alone will siphon off enough votes from Romney to enable Obama to win the toss-up states and both together will even hand Obama some of the Republican-leaning states.
In other words, a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Barack Obama.
Isn't this called a reach around?
John Mcain is a great man who sees the right future for America.
If Romney gets an endorsement from Palin and Bachmann, his fate will be set in concrete.
Oh goodies, now all he needs is the imbecile from AK thinking that because she was in the ticket she can help.
Does mccain, that war "hero", realize that his sons were too busy helping daddy for the last 10 ten years to run for the presidency that they couldn't serve?
Just wondering.
who really cares about the obama bed buddy mccain. I no longer respect the life long poltician and wish he would just go away, there are real heroes out there and mccain isnt one.
►TRENDING: McCain to endorse Romney◄
And that will be "The death of Thee!!!"
What will spoil it even more and cause a hijack?
An endorsement from PALIN – Go Figure That!!!
Obama 2012!!
The loser from the last election giving an endorsement? Really? It would not sway me one bit. I just hope both will be looking at long days at home after the election when the people vote out the GnOP. I want to see super dem majority because that will be the only way progress will be made in this country.
I suppose McCain can now come OUT of the closet since the battle is over. That grinch is hiding in the woods up there somewhere- mad from his a– whooping.
Big deal... McCain's judgment can't be fully trusted because of his choice of Sarah Palin. I don't think that this really does much to make me think that Romney is a good choice.
Old loser to endorse almost old loser.
Who really cares who this loser endorses? This old man should have gone to one of his seven houses a long time ago. He is a good example of why there should be term limits in congress.
Now there is a combo for success, one flipper RINO loser supporting another RINO flipper.
May the GOP keep up the good work!
I knew the minute that Romney said he wanted a war with Iran, the McSenile would start drooling, and endorse the spineless chicken hawk.
I don't think its a good idea. It will be negative, people haven't forgotten that McCain is the one who brought Sarah Palin
Romney 2012 !!!!!
flunky endorsing self-righteous and self-loving windbag... God help us all
One former (intentionally) LOSING Republican candidate endorsing the NEXT (intentionally) losing Republican candidate? Film at 11.
"Job Creators" can get more meet off of the carcass of America/Americans working from the outside AND continue to blame it on Democrats, particularly President Obama.
I like when a politician waits until a candidate has basically secured the nomination before they commit to a candidate – that way you can say you are saying you are supporting the people's candidate (lol). What it shows is that you are doing the partys business and not that of the people. If a politician thinks a candidate is the best choice they need to support the candidate early or just not endorse anyone.
I live in Arizona. I have watched this state for the past 26 years. McCain hasnt done anything for this state other than
suckin on the hind teat of the state tax payers. What an embarassment.
For Romney?....Adultry, Polygamy.....this isnt something that most americans will support, and this exactly is what he has chosen for a religion. This type of mentality is exacly what we fight against with regards to conservative family values. A Mormon in the White House?.....LOL.........Brazil looks good now!
Iowa made the good choice voting for Romney . It's about time that there's someone who's going to beat Obama who is going to be a one term president.Let's go Republicans! More power to you!
Like that matters, maybe Palin will help too. Good luck Romney!!
Having John McCain backing Mitt Romney Isn't going to help. If I was Mitt Romney I would think twice about that.
bad sign for Romney...
Watch for more and more of the republican leadership to endorse Romney. The GOP knows Newt is TOTALLY unsuitable and cannot beat Obama. Santorum is way too liberal and has no support among the base. Perry will drop out this week, with Bachman to follow quickly. Huntsman will drop after a miserable showing in New Hampshire and after dissing the swing state of Iowa ("Iowa picks corn" effectively gives the state to Obama if Hunstman is the nominee – DUMB).
The GOP base will get behind Romeny, albeit some reluctantly - but in a general election, Romney's willingness to negotiate and compromise to get things done as he did with the Democratic majority in Massachusetts will give him the Independents and moderate Democrats who are fed up with the Obama grid lock
