Palin seeks increased Romney transparency

(CNN) - Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor who mused with a presidential bid of her own this cycle, suggested Wednesday that Mitt Romney should release records from his time at Bain Capital, as well as his personal tax returns.

Not doing so, she said, could lead to devastating consequences that would injure his candidacy in the weeks before November's general election.

"Don't be surprised that that's all coming out today, because it would come out as an October surprise had these GOP candidates not brought those out today," Palin said on the Fox News program "Hannity."

She continued, "Barack Obama and his machine and the billion dollars that he's got behind him will bring all of this stuff out anyway."

Candidates need to be prepared, Palin said.

"It's rough and tumble, not beanbag as Romney and others have called it. You've got to be prepared for this."

In the interview, Palin characterized Texas Gov. Rick Perry's attacks on Romney's tenure at Bain as questions about his job creation claims.

"This isn't about a politician making huge profits in the private sector," she said. I "think what Governor Perry is getting at is that Governor Romney claimed to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain and you know, people are wanting to know, is there proof of that claim?"

Republicans, she said, should vet candidates "within our own party."

But Palin's comments do not mean she is closer to choosing a candidate to support.

"I'm still with the majority," Palin said. "Searching."

@MysticRedcat and others of like mind on here, if Obama had been properly vetted, he would never have beaten Hillary, much less been elected.

From Phil Coster "....any chance we can get Joran Van der Sloot to visit with Sarah Palin???"

I find Sarah Palin to be the embodiment of much that is wrong with modern politics, but that post was just uncalled for. I know you can do better.

Palin's son served in the military to avoid prison for drug related offenses, not for altruistic or flag waving reasons. (huh. I thought she had disappeared under that rock of hers, but here she is again...)

You forgot to add that she makes lefties heads explode and that we are afraid of her. Please, if you are going to be absurd, can you at least stick to the script.

Wow... CNN still gives this loon a platform from which to run her mouth? She's irrelevant, and America is better off when we DON'T give her the attention she desperately wants.

Mitt Romney would do well to just ignore her. Hopefully she doesn't try to endorse him (or worse, insinuate herself into his campaign), it'll ruin his image the way it ruined John McCain's.

I am a staunch Republican but I will forever hate John McCain for foisting this annoying, stupid woman onto the American public. Can't stand her and pray for the day when she becomes as irrelevant as she should be.

Why do you oppose Romney rurning over his records, Gurgi? Or are you concerned that something could be found to derail the Pretender?

It never ceases to amaze me that anyone could possibly LIKE this person or take her seriously!! I mean, really, I'm embarrassed for people who think she is relevant or has anything of importance to contribute. She can't even complete a coherant sentence. She rambles.

Who cares what she seeks? Her opinion should carry less weight than the average American due to her below average intelligence.

For the very first time in my lifetime, I have to agree with Sarah. I would like for Mitt to substantiate his claim about creating 100,000 jobs.

@Truth: Help me out here please. I've been voting and hopefully aware of Presidential politics since 1968 and, for the life of me, I can't seem to find ANY mention of outrage over Nixon, Reagan, Bush, or Baby Bush not disclosing school transcripts, class records, etc. Not to mention birth certificates (although it may behoove us to ask for Mitt "anchor baby" Romney's Mexican, er, I mean American birth certificate. Very strange; what could be the x factor here? Oh, ....never mind, figured it out.

I guess Palin stating the incredibly obvious gets her a few more Fox dollars and few more minutes in the public eye.
Just when you think she's finally faded away,Fox drags her back out from under the rock.
Just like their periodic fascination with what Ann Coulter has to spew.
This is what makes Fox the supermarket tabloid it is.
