Romney's relatives south of the border
Colonia Juarez, Mexico (CNN) - In the rolling hills of northern Mexico, about 180 miles south of the U.S. border, lies a community that stands out for its religious roots. The houses in this community surrounded by peach and apple orchards look more like homes you would find in the American Southwest than in Mexico. On top of a hill stands a gleaming white Mormon temple, a rarity in this largely Catholic country.
Miles Anthony Romney is a resident in this community called Colonia Juarez and a practicing Mormon. The 50-year-old owner of orchards and a fruit packing plant says his family descends from Mormons who settled in this area more than 125 years ago.

Take it easy everyone. I agree it was unfair the way the birth certificate issue for Obama was handled. I have a hard time just getting over the fact that Mr. Romney's father and grandfather are Hispanic and he shows so much disdain to give relief to the Hispanics who have lived decent lives in this country and are people of character. Is he afraid to called an Hispanic. This would be an Historic thing an Hispanic President. We Americans have come a long way. We should be proud that American dream is well and alive. However, good luck to him running against Obama. I am an undecided Republican and I do not believe for one minute that he can match up with Obama as a politician or a debater either. I think Republicans are choosing another John Mccain in the person of Romney to run against President Obama. We know the results with Mccain and I feel sorry that we have to see history repeating itself. I really am sorry.

So in a few short generations Romney's family became multi-millionaires through hard work, turly the American dream. I know the leftists will hold that against him because they hate the American dream.

Both my parents emmigrated, and know far more about the American dream than people like Romney. His family left the United States because they disagreed with the LDS Church caving on polygamy, so check your facts, please. We don't have envy him because he belongs to a successful family, we oppose him because his policies do not open opportunites for our children, only his kids and grandkids. Its odd that you would be bringing up envy, but, faced with a candidate with as thin a resume as Mitt's, I guess its the only thing the GOP has left. Wow, a 1-term governor who has spent more time running for his next job than he spent in the last one: that's a visionary! By the way, " turly"?
