Jon Stewart defends controversial book about Obamas

Washington (CNN) - If you think the more than weeklong controversy over a new book about the first couple had died down, well, you'd be wrong.

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart joined the fray on his program Monday night.

How incredible.... A favorable puff piece of a book and that isn't enough for Michelle Obama. Seems she sees a racist behind every rock, or book, with her "angry black woman" statement. How incredibly thin skinned they are. Can you imagine their temperment if the press didn't treat them with kid gloves?

Jon should have pointed out that the response of the obamas' to the book showed the world they are an "angry black woman," and an "angry black man." Now that would have been classic stewart.

The problem is that we've grown used to "medicated" First Ladies, that have no heart, no opinions, no soul.
"Smile and wave ladies, smile and wave".
Michelle is a real woman, with real feelings, and real class.
No pills allowed in THIS White House.

Mrs. Obama'snly problem is, that she takes pop "journalism/writing" much to seriously. It is written to make money.

I hope the author makes her money. This is America after all where we don't have to agree with everything and everybody. But the book from what I've skimmed can be left on the shelf.

And yes, I most certainly was referring to Laura The Stepford Wife Bush in my previous comment.

So were Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush "Angry White Women". I recall them being pretty quick to defend their husbands and their issue with the White House staffer were notable. We just didn't have the 24/7 news cycle back then. In all fairness Hilary wasn't exactly demure either.

You continue to show the true hatred of an ignorant, xenophobic right-wing bigot. Michelle Obama is clearly the nicest First Lady I've seen in my 65 years and a great mother and wife. Get away from hate radio and try to become a whole human being before you are lost forever in the brainwashed sludge of hate radio.

Regardless of what some believe, Michelle is a beautiful Black Woman of today
We have children that look up to her and don’t even try to take that away
What is ANGRY- a word some would paint on her – but do they mean STRONG
Something that was passed down to us and we carry it every day through our songs

Michelle Obama had so much thrown against her, very hurting and she remained silent
So who are we to judge her when she speaks out, maybe it’s that “last sting” she felt was very violent
She is the “first” First Lady that had to deal with more than the regular “punches” towards a First Lady
So she speaks out – it’s her right – and I guarantee you in future she’ll be “silent” because this is crazy!!

    Michelle and President Obama 2012!!

Within the Black community, we call stories like this 'He Say-She Say' (we are aware that this saying probably did not originate with Blacks). There are four (4) points to the construction of He Say-She Say, each point designed to make each story 'believable'. The 4 points are: 1: tell everything you know; 2: tell everything you think; 3: tell everything you 'heard'; 4: start making s**t up. We've learned to steer away from He Say-She Say, for good reason: the bulk of the story is usually based on points 3 and 4.

While I don't see Stewart as being a politician or real news I do get a lot of what is going on with candidates and politicians in general from his show.
There is a lot of garbage that the "real" media doesn't report that we all should know about.

Hmmmmm...a lot of racist comments in these posts. And NONE were directed at michelle obama. Just because a person does not lie about their upbringing to validate their victimhood, do not cost the American taxpayers $$$ in the millions because she is so special she can not delay her vacation for 2 days or even 4 hours...that does not make her 'a real woman' with 'real class'. Her previous accomplishments of getting her salary doubled, when her husband got elected to the Senate, a job that was done away with when she left it 2 years later, shows her level of womanhood. Her participation in a major part of the purchase of her house by a slumlord, who had received $$$ millions due to her husband's only efforts at legislation shows her class.

That doesn't even makes sense. However, it does show how some of you extreme rightwing nutjobs get all twisted up in logic pretzels by racial issues and your own inability to deal with them,
