TRENDING: Gingrich's Secretary Palin?

(CNN) - If Newt Gingrich wins the White House in November, the former House speaker said Wednesday Sarah Palin may get a big seat at the table.

"I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I'm president, but nothing has been discussed of any kind," Gingrich said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

Tune in Thursday at 8 p.m. ET for the CNN/Southern Republican Presidential Debate hosted by John King and follow it on Twitter at #CNNDebate. For real-time coverage of the South Carolina primary, go to CNNPolitics.com or to the CNN apps or CNN mobile web site.

His comments came one day after Palin urged South Carolina voters to head to the polls for Gingrich during Saturday's first-in-the-South primary.

She said a win for Gingrich would prolong the Republican primary and allow voters more time to vet the remaining candidates.

Asked if he would consider the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee to be his own running-mate this time around, Gingrich insisted it was too early to discuss a possible short list.

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice," Gingrich said.

Knowing that a Republican might possibly take office, I decided that Mitt might be to out of control with giving all the power of the nation to his church. Gingrich being the only alternative sounded terrible but better.... but after his statement about Palin I feel angry and confused and reminded how important it is for Obama to remain in office.

Newt is going to dangle Palin to win the Religious Right who are reluctant to support Romney.

Typical New; brazen, high handed, double delt, and he will back out of the deal as soon as he makes it.

And, its a better than 50/50 chance the Religious Right will fall for it...

Come on man....Are you looking for the "kiss of death"? You already have enough baggage to travel the world and you want to add to it? Talk about "birds of a feather"!!! I would have thought that just an endorsement from this person would send you running for the hills. My goodness, what have we come to? Newt for President, and Sarah for Vice President. President Obama, I know it's a very hard job with all that you have been up against, but PLEASE don't leave us with only these people to count on to fix a mess THEY made!!!!!

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice."

Seriously? And I was seriously thinking about voting for Gingrich at one time. What a fool I am. Anyone who publicly proclaims they would take any type of advice from that woman has serious judgment issues, and can not possibly be presidential material.

Well, this speaks volumes about his judgement, that he would give that airhead an ounce of responsibility in his administration. he just proved beyone a doubt he's not fit to be president.
