TRENDING: Gingrich's Secretary Palin?

(CNN) - If Newt Gingrich wins the White House in November, the former House speaker said Wednesday Sarah Palin may get a big seat at the table.

"I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I'm president, but nothing has been discussed of any kind," Gingrich said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

Tune in Thursday at 8 p.m. ET for the CNN/Southern Republican Presidential Debate hosted by John King and follow it on Twitter at #CNNDebate. For real-time coverage of the South Carolina primary, go to CNNPolitics.com or to the CNN apps or CNN mobile web site.

His comments came one day after Palin urged South Carolina voters to head to the polls for Gingrich during Saturday's first-in-the-South primary.

She said a win for Gingrich would prolong the Republican primary and allow voters more time to vet the remaining candidates.

Asked if he would consider the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee to be his own running-mate this time around, Gingrich insisted it was too early to discuss a possible short list.

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice," Gingrich said.

Well, that ought to just about seal a "crash and burn" for Newt. ANYONE who would consider that moron for any political office whatsoever clearly learned nothing from the last 4 years that we've had $arah and her dysfunctional family inflicted on us.

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice," Gingrich said.

In other words he is telling us, "Don't vote for me"

Obviously Newt is courting the Tea Party crazies who still have a crush on Palin. The thimbleful of policy ideas she might be able to contribute to the executive branch of government is laughable, but desperate times call for desperate means. Everyone knows Palin wouldn't get off her gravy train and take a massive cut in pay to be a servant of the people. Newt also knows that she knows nothing, but snagging the votes of the Palin die-hard supporters is worth it to Newt.

If Newt really wanted to demonstrate his intelligence, he would have kept that thought under wraps until after winning the general election.

That would be great if Gingrich won and he appointed Palin to a big job...like SecDefense? She would have us bombing Austria....and SecState? She would piss off Sarkozy and we would be at war with France. Even just suggesting Palin would have a big role tells you what a moron Gingrich is....he is really trying to please everyone...but doesnt' he know Palin is considered a joke??? He has no chance of GOP nod, nor a presidential win.

Good grief. Another old white GOP presidential candidate considers a good looking female as his VP pick. Didn't we experience this back in 2008?

The former history teacher would ask the gal who re-wrote Paul Revere's ride (and a few other items, but PR's ride was the most famous gaffe) to sit at his table? As a student, right? No, as a Secretary? Whut?

Not that I care, but if any of these candidates wanted to show how smart they were, they could start by staying the heck away from this lady!!! OBAMA 2012!!!

I certainly hope that Newt would ask Palin to be is VP, it would be the same result as the last time she ran for the office. I think Newt is getting ahead of himself in that Mitt is going to be the nominee for the bagger party. Gingrich does not have baggage, he has a steamer trunk.
