TRENDING: Gingrich's Secretary Palin?

(CNN) - If Newt Gingrich wins the White House in November, the former House speaker said Wednesday Sarah Palin may get a big seat at the table.

"I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I'm president, but nothing has been discussed of any kind," Gingrich said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

His comments came one day after Palin urged South Carolina voters to head to the polls for Gingrich during Saturday's first-in-the-South primary.

She said a win for Gingrich would prolong the Republican primary and allow voters more time to vet the remaining candidates.

Asked if he would consider the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee to be his own running-mate this time around, Gingrich insisted it was too early to discuss a possible short list.

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice," Gingrich said.

Oh come on!! Even the Newt can't be that stupid, can he? Even the suggestion of putting her in a major cabinet roll should be enough to not vote for this idiot. There is NO MAJOR ROLL that Palin could fill. There is no minor roll she could fill. We would be the laughing stock of the world. Republicans are totally out of touch with reality.

Sounds like Newt wants attention like the Donald. If Newt was a serious candidate, he would not want loser Palin anywhere near him or his administration.

I think they would make a great ticket. They represent the character and core values of the Republican / Tea Party and its members.

Gringrich hasn't learnt from John McCain's failure in 2008 has he?

Well I guess if he wants to learn it the hard way......

i guess this is pretty much irrelevant information, as there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that mr. gingrich will be elected president.

Gingrich will do anything, say anything right now to appease the radical right. Just the thought of Gingrich as President and Palin in ANY role is enough for cause of deep concern. It shows that there is no limit to how crazy this campaign can get.

Well, as a moderate who began to like Newts new found sense of understanding and moderation, I can easily say I want NO parts of this. Palin, Bachmann, Perry, and mitt are instant no's.

I wonder if her role would become mistress and then wife number (4?) or if she could skip the mistress step.

newt would actually axk Palin for advice? My already low opinion of him has pretty much dropped to zero now. I can't think of a much worse scenario than Gingrich and Palin.

I don't think that Newt will get the nomination anyway, but...............was he out of the country during the 2008 elections? While I am not a Republican, I feel that John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as a running mate had a lot to do with his defeat. Good luck with that Newt!

Newt would give Sarah P a big seat at the table?
That from the Newt, PhD, who is supposedly so smart? He hasn't learned from the disaster that Sarah P caused the last time around???????????????????????
He must have completely lost his marbles. Oh does he find her more attractive than Calista? He must have lost his marbles, and he would lose his b.alls tooo.

Please please please Newt, this is the funniest thing you said so far. Say it again, Newt... We love comedy.
