TRENDING: Gingrich's Secretary Palin?

(CNN) - If Newt Gingrich wins the White House in November, the former House speaker said Wednesday Sarah Palin may get a big seat at the table.

"I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I'm president, but nothing has been discussed of any kind," Gingrich said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

His comments came one day after Palin urged South Carolina voters to head to the polls for Gingrich during Saturday's first-in-the-South primary.

She said a win for Gingrich would prolong the Republican primary and allow voters more time to vet the remaining candidates.

Asked if he would consider the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee to be his own running-mate this time around, Gingrich insisted it was too early to discuss a possible short list.

"Certainly, she's one of the people I'd call on for advice," Gingrich said.

If this is any reflection of Mr. Gingrich's judgment and not merely him trolling for votes, he simply confirms that he is not fit for the Republican nomination, much less the Presidency.

Seeing as Newt Gingrich would be calling on everyone he knows for help, it's apropos to think he'd want to seek advice from a wannabe celebrity who can't finish a term of office herself. Wow, you Republicans are in some pretty bad shape if this is the lot you have to draw on...

Do it Newt, tie that big old anchor around your neck before you go for a swim. Sarah's salivating right now, you made her feel wanted again. Could this be a ploy for the newest mistress?

You can't make up stuff like this-endlessly amusing, until the bombs start dropping, of course.

Not that President Obama would have any difficulty defeating Newt on his - oh, how I wish the GOP would nominate Newt! - but a Gingrich/Palin ticket would guarantee an Obama rout; he'd probably win Georgia and maybe even Alaska!

  15. Please, I'm Begging!

Please, please, not vote for this man! I cannot believe that he actually considers Sarah Palin for any position whatsoever near the White House let alone in it! When John McCain (and I still cannot believe he did that) pulled her out of a hat and actually believed America deserved her as our VP, I was shocked to tears. And now, again, the lizard offers her up again. What in the world is wrong with these people? Are they just that power & money hungry that they would sacrifice America?
